When taking a break from the 10/7DB at the Strat last week, I was
playing blackjack at a 6-deck shoe game with two other players, and the
dealer gave each of us an ace of spades, followed by each of us
receiving a 9 of hearts. The dealer busted, which added to the pleasure
of the moment.

This seems to be an excellent example of "patterns" in random slections.
If a V.P. machine dealt three identical losing hands in a row we would
