I too am a spam fighter against the constant stream of unwanted
Emails that are directed at my personal addresses, and also against
attempted spammings of vpFREE by porno and online gambling sites.
Moderation of new members until they have made a legitimate post
shortstops around a dozen spam attempts every week on vpFREE. I'm
amazed that none have ever gotten through.
PROMOTIONAL POSTS
The stated policy in the vpFREE Rules has been that all promotional
posts require prior approval from me. This policy hasn't been
enforced, and has generally been ignored.
I've just replaced the old policy with a new policy (which I've just
written, and may re-word after I reflect on it some):
"PROMOTIONAL POSTS: The preferred promotional method on
vpFREE is the use of short, non-obtrusive signature files. In
addition, occasional announcements of new or continuing offers of
mainstream video poker related products are acceptable. All other
promotional posts require prior approval."
It's my responsibility to police the promotional post policy, and I
hope that those who aren't interested in particular posts of this
nature will rapidly and decisively exercise their delete key option.
FWIW, I'm very upset <G> with the recent promotional post by our
newest HOF inductee, because SWMBO has decided to avail herself of
the offer, and therefore reduce our bankroll accordingly.
