Where did you get the info that this was ending? Below is what they are saying on their web site as of Saturday morning.

I had also heard that the current bonus level would end on June 30
as well. But it has apparently been extended to the end of the year.
I got the news directly from a Southwest telephone res. agent (I had
to call in a reservation for my mom, as she gets the senior fare),
who told me that Dec. 31 is now the ending date.

I seem to recall they extended the deadline at least once on their
original bonus, which offered double credits instead of just a 50%
bonus. Maybe they'll do it again.

I'm headed for San Diego/Palm Springs in about a week, and I took
Southwest even though I could get a slightly lower fare elsewhere.
Southwest is almost always on time or early; their staff is
unfailingly friendly, even when faced with an hour-long curbside
check-in line at McCarran the Monday after a big fight weekend (my
first trip to LV); they only fly full-sized jets--the other airline
wanted me to fly a regional jet with a stop plus a connection to
ANOTHER regional jet, but there's no way I'm flying an RJ cross-
country with my mom. The flight's almost two hours shorter, plus the
connection is at McCaran both ways--I know I shouldn't play the
slots there, but there's a Texas Tea machine that's been awfully
nice to me my last two times out.

Yeah, the planes are a little more crowded sometimes on SWA, but I
still LUV (their stock ticker symbol) flying with them.
