South Point spin promotion

On Sat, Sun & Mon in April, South Point has a promotion where you get a spin, on the card reader at your machine, for every 2,000 points (max of 4 per day).

The prizes are points and free play. As of yesterday Mrs. Don and I earned 25 spins with an average value of $14.30 per spin. This equates to an additional .715% return. It appears that the value of the prizes may be correlated to the level of the player.

How did you learn it was 4 spins per day? i assumed it was only one. Thanks for the info. Bob said on his show he got a $75 reward on one of his 6 spins.

It is useful to have such numbers posted. Bonnie and I have had 12 spins so far and our average is slightly higher. Keep in mind that double points would be 0.3% so this is more than 4x points — albeit it limited to 2,000 points a day.

Before the promotion started I spoke to Cliff Paige (VP of Slots) and asked him if the value of the spins was correlated to how big of a mailer you get. He said no, not this time. Sometimes they do it that way, but aren’t doing it that way currently.

See even Bob didn’t know! Somebody else is going to be kicking themselves in the butt!

Like Bob D. I assumed 1 spin per day. Luckily a close friend just “happened” to go there and play and was awarded the bonus spins automatically. My friend noticed the spins were awarded every 2K points and just kept playing until he didn’t get anymore free spins.

I just checked South Points web site and the promotion details listed there do not mention how many spins may be awarded. I would call that sloppy work… but that is just me!

My spouse and I have played the promo 3 days for 4 spins each day. On the first day, it appeared that the promo DID award the player with the better mailer a better prize. I guess that was just random fluctuation. The subsequent days results indicated that the mailer level is NOT a factor. Our results were close the $15 per spin.

This promotion also states an advertised total of $500,000. I believe the casino can adjust the “value” of the spins as the promotion proceeds based upon its results to date. Perhaps they do this to ensure that they don’t exceed their budget even if the promotion proves very popular.

G’luck all,

Here’s an update. Through today we have had a total of 40 spins with an average value $17.75. The average was positively impacted by Mrs. Don landing on a 50,000 point wedge.
