South Point Question

My wife and I only make one trip to Vegas each year, and we are recreational players. The last couple trips have been to South Point and we really enjoy staying there. For years we stayed at the Golden Nugget and then after that Caesars, left both when the VP we enjoyed at each location was downgraded.

Last trip to South Point we stayed in one of their one bedroom 1000 sqft suites which was very nice. Host comped two nights up front and put us in at casino rate for last three nights. We had stayed in regular rooms on past trips and had room and food comped, so thought maybe we were playing enough to get suite and food comped. We played a little over $144,000 thru machines over the five days and nights. I thought it might be better to put more play on one card and that would give better chance at getting trip comped. So we put 124,000 points on my card and only 20,000 points on my wife's card. Very easy to calculate at South Point with each dollar being worth one point. At end of trip asked host about comping suite and food. We were told only played enough to cover suite, none of food was comped. I don't argue too much, but did ask, how much we had in comps and was told a little over $700 and it takes that to cover suite for five nights. Casino rate on suite by the way was $150 per night. So I said okay. We had ate some other places when we were out and about so only had about $200 in food on the room.

So, now to my question, on our upcoming trip, at end of this month we are getting regular room. If we had put points on correct card there would have been about 80,000 on wife's card and 64,000 on my card. It seems to me that it did us no good to try to load up one card. And the mailers we get are nothing special. I know this has been discussed for other locations, but, I'd just as soon put my play on my card and wife can put her play on her card, simplier and we should still get room and food comped with our play. Does anyone know if we are likely to harm future comps by not loading most of the play on to one card? Thanks in advance for help. Also, we do have the five nights in regular room comped up front and last trip was a nice trip for us with net of positve $800, hitting 3 royals on little over 100,000 hands, we play triple play 9/6, five play 8/5BP STP, and wife loves the 9/6 nine line spin poker, which always gives her a little more dollars thru the machines than I play. All play is on 25cent games so all royals were $1000.

thanks again

I would keep playing on just one card, although I'm sure that they take both cards into consideration when you are staying there.
