South Point News

Big sign at entrance to the South Point slot club says
the new minimum coin-in amounts for the locals'
mailers are as follows:

A+ $45,000
A $10,000
B $5,000
C $900
D $1

These are as of 4/1/07 and will affect the June and
later mailers. Glad to see they are being open about
the bounceback requirements.

Per yesterday's LVRJ newspaper, the entrance and exit
ramps for Silverado Ranch and I-15 northbound only
will open tomorrow afternoon. The southbound ramps
to/from I-15 will open in October. South Point Casino
is at the corner of Silverado Ranch and LV Blvd.

Michael's Restaurant is still in the process of moving
from Barbary Coast to South Point. Should be opening
soon.

Saw some 9/5 WHA on the SpinPokers near the high limit
room. Four uprights with 25c and six with 25c/50c/$1.

Good news? ... maybe. I guess that depends on whether the mailers
remain unchanged. Time will tell.

Thanks for another great report.

Love the posting of the requirements. For a non South Point/Vegas
player, what is the time period required to play the coin in listed
above. And based on past experience, what would each of the
classifications of above return in $ from the mailers.

Just curious, and would like to compare to my meager play.

I'm not a local (live in Southern California), but I played one day at
South Point in November -- did $37,909 coin in on various video poker
games (not all full pay) and my offers are pathetic. 2 free nights
Sunday - Thursday, $50 free play and $50 dining credit.

I was comped in a regular room the day I played and was given an
unrestricted comp to the steak house that night. Speaking with a host
after my play, I was told she would bring me in for three nights
comped in a suite next time.

Mailed offers are normally what gets me in the door, though.

Now you have a stock answer to offer up next time someone asks, "What
can a host do for me that I can't simply get from the player desk?"

(Oh, and you cite an excellent reason for always making a host
introduction upon your first play - when your play warrants it.)
