This is so tiresome. I, also, was at South Point today. I called Michael
Gaughan's office and explained to his exec assistant that I resented most not
giving us notice about this upcoming change.

I stated that I could care less what his new system is but felt cheated
that I put on 20K+ and 60K+ respectively in August and September. He had
previously had a large notice when he went fromk $7500 to 10K as the minimum
required for the A mailer.

Michael Gaughan had been touted as the last of the old time gambler owners
who were a bit more up front and ethical in treating their customers fairly.
She took my number...wonder if I'll get a call.

PS The current A mailer for the Silverton and M are more than decent. The
South Point will pale in comparison.</HTML>

NO way Micheal Gaughn cares about the everyday operation of his casino. He hires people for that. Probably the same idiots who do the Palms mailers. (If you win, you don't get a mailer.)

If we all stop going, THEN he might care, once he sees business decrease.

I checked with the booth, and I played over 111,000 during the earning period. Got a $5/week mailer.

Meanwhile the inlaws played 27,000 and 35,000, during the same time period. THEY GOT $20/week! and $15 in food coupons.

Guess there is no reason to walk into that place ever again.
We had our "last meal" at the Prime Rib place last night from our A+ mailer from Sept.

I also feel cheated. I was expecting that A+ mailer from all our play in August. Instead I get an insulting $5/ week. I get more from Stations, and I play there hardly at all!

I don't know this for sure but I always heard, from various sources including employees, that he was a very hands-on person.

We're not discussing a trifling matter, but something which will significantly affect play in the casino, and it's cash flow.

It's inconceivable that Michael Gaughn did not, at the very least, give his approval

Isn't the reason he bailed on Stations/Boyd after he sold was he wanted to be more involved day to day?

If memory serves he sold all his stores for something like $1.2 Billion, then turned around and bought the South Coast back for something over $700 million.
