entire casino appeared to be converted to Class III gaming and I saw
no Class II machines. Could you elaborate a little?
Just look for an electronic bingo card on top of the machines. About
25% of the faux VP (remember, they LOOK like VP, but they're REALLY
bingo)remains there. I've asked the Administration to remove such
references to the bingo machines, as they are non-random.
If you walk into high limits at HR Seminole, the room is shaped like a
dog leg. Turning into the second room, if you look straight ahead, to
the left, you'll see a bank of Class III machines, with 9-6 Jacks on
all the machines, single line and multi-line against the wall. If you
look to the right, you'll see the bingo machines. Again, look for the
bingo card on top of the machines, as well as how much the progressive
jackpot is worth.
There's a consumer protection issue which bothers me. Apparently a lot
of you were fooled that even though the bingo machines just looked
like VP, you apparently thought that these machines were random, where
a disclaimer should have been on the machine. I saw one guy pounding
away on a Class II faux 9-5 DDB, $10 denom, 10 coins. He wishes he was
taking only 2% the worst of it.
Finally, if I thought SFL could ever be playable, I probably wouldn't
be talking about it. I've actually found a couple of things there
already, especially a Mickey Crimm-esque 6-8% quarters play, but the
tax situation makes it hard for the racinos to offer any really
playable VP at all. I played some 9-7 DB at Mardi Gras, too, used a
SFL address and got total $20bb for my 11K ci.
The problem is that the Indians and racinos are taxed differently even
though they offer the same product. The tax situation greatly favors
the tribes. The other problem is that when you bust someone every time
they come in, which is the usual result when you offer 90% reels and
97% VP, they usually won't come back after the third or fourth visit.
In my visits to the racinos, only Gulfstream and Mardi Gras (Pembroke)
had any real business after the first month, particularly the latter.
Pompano's Isle is pretty much vacant from what I can see, and they
offer a first class facility.
Then again, the Indians may make a mistake or two promo wise, and one
of the keno teams down there may be able to take advantage of it. But
that's a different issue altogether...
Finally, the Sterling boats Doug Reul mentioned above still had $1
FPDW and FPKBJW in them as of Dec 07.
