South Coast Location

Damn - I hate when they move buildings like that...

When did it move to the southeast corner? Surprised that wasn't on the
news...

Las Vegas Boulevard and Silverado Ranch Bouldevard.

I-15 South coast is south of Silverado and just east of I-15
North ^ That would make it southeast! Unless they just moved it to the west of I-15

I find the discussion about exactly which corner it's on amusing. I
haven't been there yet, but while driving westward on the 215 from
Henderson, it's easily visible from probably five miles away. This is a
BIG place. When you get anywhere near the vicinity, it'll be the
dominant building and easy to find. There's no need to plan out
beforehand exactly which corner you are heading to. If you can't figure
it out when you're nearby, you're probably way too medicated for
intelligent gambling.

Yes, but it's on the west side of Las Vegas Blvd. South, which makes it the Southwest corner of the intersection.

er ... don't suppose there's anyone here who earned their Scouting

Perhaps, as long as we know the intersection, a 360 degree turn about by the seeker at
that intersection, should solve the problem nicely, even without an orienteering
badge....LOL

The building stands significantly higher than anything around it.
Just get anywhere south of I215 and west of GVR and look for the big
brightly lit building. That's it.

Thanks for the chuckle. That being said, I like to know which corner things are on because until I know that there's a working traffic light (or stop sign), I HATE making left turns here. As you know, traffic lights aren't installed and turned on until after there's at least one fatality, and I don't want that fatality to be me, my husband or any of my friends. Because of this and the fast moving traffic on Las Vegas Blvd. (not to mention all the drunk drivers), I would prefer to approach the property from the direction that allows me to turn right into the parking lot.

Bob, if you think of the lack of a traffic light, coupled with speeding, drunk drivers as "penalty cards," I think you'll get my point.

Lainie,

From Luxor and beyond, just take Las Vegas Blvd. towards Mandalay
Bay, pass it and within the next 5 minutes or so you'll see the
tallest/biggest building in the neighborhood on the right side of the
road. That's South Coast casino for you. No need to know the corner
or cross streets.

Those Magellan and Garmin navigators are also ON SALE at Costco, just
in case... :>

Thanks Gilbert, I know precisely where it is (just southwest of the intersection of Silverado Ranch and Las Vegas Blvd.). As a local, I've been watching the progress since before they broke ground.

I was just trying to make the point (apparently not too sucessfully <g>) that people sometimes have reasons for wanting to know exactly where something is located. So, given my desire to not make left turns, because I know exactly where the South Coast is, I would approach the property coming south from the outlet mall and not going north from St. Rose Parkway.
