Sounds like some Cannery changes coming

Friend of mine got a letter today from the Eastside Cannery, I have not seen it yet but he read some of it to me over the phone. Says starting January 4th, 400 points will be worth $1, and $1 coin-in for slots and $2 coin-in for VP will equal a point.

Naturally, I'm curious to see what this is going to be. I wonder if it's just Eastside Cannery, or both places.

I got the same letter from both places. They both strongly imply that
it's better to get 1/8% instead of 1/6%. Maybe they'll have more
multipliers to make up for it.

I did not get the letter from either Cannery. Do they say if they will just devaluate current points or adjust current points totals upward to be worth an equivalent cash value?

your points at ec will be adjusted to reflect the new system...
i like how they say we listened to your comments and made the system a whole lot easier (instead of better)...i would like to see those requests from players!!!...
slots stay the same...vp goes from 600 coin-in to 800 coin-in per $1...
high-flyer status would now require 250k coin-in vs 62.5 before...i assume that will change as it would also triple for slot players...

At risk of someone telling me this is a stupid question, I'm wondering why if it ain't broke why "fix" it? Ok, nevermind, it is a stupid question. lol

This is pure speculation, but from their emphasis in these letters on
how they compared to Stations and Coasts, I think they decided that
having their cash back be at the rate of 1200 points per $1 created
the perception that theirs was worse. Maybe they decided that people
would be more aware of that than that points were earned at the rate
of 2 per $1 played.

As a new slots player, the point systems at different casinos are major-league confusing. I try to keep notes, but it's a mess.

I wish casinos would just show on the screens of the slots:
   a) Coin-in
   b) Earning rate for this machine
   c) Points earned
   d) Value of points

Some machines like the full-pay at Gold Coast advertise that they earn no points.

However, some video blackjack machines don't say that they earn no points.
In the MGM chain,
Mirage - simulated dealer machines earn no points, but the regular VBJ machines do.
Luxor - simulated dealer machines do earn points

As a mostly-tables person who's trying to learn slots, its very confusing.
I know the points & comp systems of the casinos I play most often, but the other casinos are a blur...

You've got to be right, that makes a lot of sense the way you put it.

Now I am curious how they'll handle the fpdw, etc. Will they do like Stations and make it $4 coin-in = 1 point?

More likely, maybe not.

They are both going to the new point system...was informed by slot club that it has to do with merging the two properties...of course they were both already using the same point system...was also informed high-flyer status play has yet to be determined...the point multipliers makes sense as the new system would allow for more flexibility as points accrue slower...

More likely, maybe not.

I received the Jan mailer...looks like 5x is now .625 cb. Makes a marginal play now pretty much unplayable...at least by my standards.

You need to ask their consultant.

You can be sure that this confusion is entirely intentional on the casinos' part. They don't want people to be able to easily compare the value of slot clubs between different casinos. This has been going on pretty much since slot clubs began.
