Sony Dash

Yeech. I don't like the Dash.

I recall, vaguely, a survey Mohegan sent out a few months ago, in which, among the questions about whether you'd like a dedicated buffet line and discounted gas, they asked how you'd rank good playing vp, points, freebies.... I guess that might have been the "forum" that they used. And as I recall, I rated the games first, points second, and freebies/tier score third. They left the "good" games, but I don't think that will keep most heavy players coming.

They are happy if all the PE hustlers go away. That is exactly what they want.

To be perfectly honest, That is one thing I actually agree with MS's management
on: there was a group of the unfriendliest, rudest, most obnoxious low-class
people I've ever encountered in a casino (excepting the street people who wander
in off the Boardwalk in AC) when the PE's were located in the old poker room.
They tied up the machines with canes, legs and bags across empty machines
"holding them for my husband, wife, etc.who's in the bathroom" for hours on end.
The real scum of the earth. Then when they moved the machines out by the Hall of
the Lost Tribes, there was a new contingent that joined them, apparently from
the table game area behind the Wolf Den. This crew professed to speak no
English, and played two or even three machines at a time, and it looked like the
area was on fire from the smoke. It was actually quite amusing to watch them
chattering like monkeys, smoking up a storm while playing the slowest machines
on earth at a frantic pace.

I didn't care for those machines and rarely played them, preferring the 9/6 DDB
anyway over the deathly slow PE's. But it is obvious that that (those) groups
ended up killing all the good plays for the rest of us.

I haven't figured out anything about the Dash yet - haven't even unpacked it.
But since I had a couple of things going at FW as well yesterday, the Dash
giveaway and the FSP and bonus FSP at the Sun, it was worth a lightning strike
out there before the storm hit. A set of quad A's plus 3 other quads made the
day really worthwhile with a net $500+ cash in on very limited play at the Sun
and a bit more at FW.

And give the Sun credit for one thing - they did open up the Dash giveaway over
an hour early to let people get it and get out before the storm hit.

They are happy if all the PE hustlers go away. That is exactly what they want.

How do you really feel about those players?

I think the $10 pick-em players (while a lot more friendly) combined with the $1 players is what Mohegan reacted to. They over reacted and are driving lots of players over the FW. For the most part the players they are driving away are the 95% of VP players that are losers. Pick-em players have no where else to go. I think the best game at FW is 96%.

FW has $1 10 coin 9/6 DDB (see the VPFree2 database)
Also, $1 25 coin FPJB.
$300 = 1 point.

The gamblers at the $10 PE were very low profile from what I can tell.
Somewhat familiar as gambled on nearby $5 machines after a good run.

IMO, it's someone that is very serious/not having fun/two machines/hoarding/high profile that caused consternation to mgmt.

Maybe there's some similarities to NYNY when "the destructor" showed up with his Sam's Town jacket and got 2 PE royals playing 2 bar top machines. 7 years ago. Really pissed off bartenders with no tips.
Iinforms mgmt. Mgmt feels violated and belittled in front of workers.

How I REALLY feel has no place on a family forum ; )

Foxwoods has a number of fairly decent plays, including $1 10 coin-in DDB, some
98.91% deuces, and 98.15% TDB. In addition, many of the 9/5 DDB and TDB have
progressives that often reach over $6K. Granted, these aren't 99%+ machines, but
they are 98%+ at least.

I've been having some good experiences at FW since January of this year, as
opposed to the generally negative Sun vibes and actions we've seen. While I
still feel more "at home" playing at the Sun for a number of years, and feel I
get a better deal using my club points at the shopping venues, FW is rapidly
progressing up the charts as a desirable destination.

Food-wise, FW has it all over the Sun: the lounge food is MUCH higher quality-
more like the 33rd floor club than the casino level clubs. The gourmet
restaurants put Bobby Flay's POS Bar Americain and the very uneven Tuscany to
shame. FW's buffet tramples the Sun's recently re-opened buffet.

All, of course, IMHO. YMMV.

How do you really feel about those players?

If that was the case all that they had to do was to remove the PE machines or downgrade the paytables rather thasn the removal of alot of the 99% paytables and the ensuing no points policy.
No this is greed ; a matter of looking at the bottom line and saying we want to make more than 3-4% per machine.
BTW as a poster pointed out when this travesty began..how are the store owners dealing with what has to be a drop in business ?

In their view between points, fsp, and other giveaways, the amount we lose is less than what they give us. If VP players are not profitable to them they don't want you. The solution was to give us less and less and therefore they make more. I have seen some of the math and it must be the new math as it makes very little sense. If we all lose big time on VP they probably will give us some points for our play. They must think we are slot idiots.
