Someone just told me the Palms DW is history

I'm in California, but just got a phone call that the Palms DW Progressive was scrapped today. Any truth to that rumor from any of you locals?

My friend (somewhat unreliable) says he was in the bar and they were talking about the guy that plays two machines all the time.

Last time I was there in October, there was a guy playing two machines twice as fast as I could play one.
I sure hope this is a rumor. IÕm headed out there in two weeks and would be lost without being able to play at the Palms.
I guess IÕd have to search the database and find another Casino. They are getting fewer and fewer.

ditto that--the machines were there 3 weeks ago when I was there

Or learn to specialize in something besides FPDW. Palms is still a good casino, with other decent games. But I feel your pain, and share a longing for the good old days(five years ago).

For busy convention weeks, Palms will remove those machines to make more
room on the floor near the entrance doors. This is definitely a very busy
weekend for the Palms, which is hosting AVN events, so very likely the
removal is temporary.

Could they be moved or taken out for a few days due to a special event? I heard that there is a adult film award ceremony/convention at the Palms sometime soon.

The "good old days" to me was playing full pay dueces at the Barbary Coast. When you were hungry you just asked for a meal ticket. They gave you a red card good for two meals at the Victorian restrauant. They also sent us three nights and free steak dinners to come out there. (of course I had the filet mignon).
I owe my correct playing to a guy sitting next to me helping me out. He told me about correct holds. I later attended a dueces seminar by Bill Dancer at the Palms and I was hooked. I could learn another game I guess. But I sure do like FPDW.

They were removed Thursday and I do suspect it is temporary to accomodate either the red carpet ceremony or lots of activities associated with the consumer electronics convention. Tons of AT&T people were set up this week.

I just returned....I went to Santana at the HRH instead. Tix were 300 a piece. After parties were at Ghost Bar, Playboy club at the palms and some other strip clubs. To go to the exotic erotic expo the cost for a day pass is 80.00. I've been once and if you go next year, the key is to get there in the am. It gets very crowded in the afternoon.

Trip report tomorrow. I've only slept 2 hours due to insanely drunk neighbors at the IP.
