I am particularly distressed this afternoon about the situation at the
Suncoast, especially since I've considered it my "home" casino the past two
years. Easily, 2/3's of my play in that time has been there, playing only
.25 FPDW. By the way, I have a losing record there, the only casino in LV
where I consistently lose. I don't mind losing as much as being betrayed.
It didn't bother me too much when they slaughtered the 10/7 DB in $1+, since
I didn't play them (although it did affect a lot of my friends). It
bothered me a little when they changed unannounced their monthly coupon
policy. It bothered me a lot when, last week, we asked for a complimentary
comp for Primo's when we easily had over $80K in action since our last comp.
We were turned down.
We were there Monday night and confirmed that two banks of FPDW were gone.
Now I understand they are all gone (I will verify this tonight). Now, my
decision: what to do next? I guess I could stop gambling altogether, learn
a new but lesser-paying game, or travel farther to other casinos. Who knows
if/when Coast will drop all the FPDW at all four casinos?
I like Texas Station, the now-closest casino to me with any FPDW. I hope
they add more, then advertise the hell out of it. Actually (in my dreams!),
I'd prefer the Rampart put theirs back in, and stick signs all over the
neighborhood saying "they're back!" We'd be there in a minute.
I guess tonight I'll go to the Suncoast and verify that the machines are
gone. If so, I'll probably end up in a long, long line at the slot club
booth and collect every penny of cashback I have left, say goodbye to all my
favorite cocktail waitresses and floorpeople, and not set foot in the place
again until I hear they've reconsidered.
I have enough experience to know that complaining to anyone at the casino
will get me nowhere. I tried that at the Rampart. I'd appreciate anyone's
comments.
