Social Security Card

My Nevada Drivers License has my SS # on it! This is fine if you are asked
for a SS#. If you don't have anything with a SS# on and do win a jackpot, they
may require you to bring in a SS card. Presumably if you don't have one on
your person you could arrange to come back with the proper credentials and they
would hold your jackpot for you. Since I have heard that some people have had
problems with jackpots over $1200 if they don't have their SS card, I carry
mine with me. Problems with identity theft are rare, and possibly if your
wallet were stolen and someone wanted to use your identity, they probably could do
so with or without a SS card.

Problems with identy theft are rare!! If you consider
7,000,000 cases rare. I guess it's not a problem until
it happens to you. I hope nobody grabs your purse and
runs. You may want to reconsider your nonchalant
attitude and be a little more careful. It took me 2
1/2 years to clear up the problems that I encountered
when my wallet was stolen in Miami 1n '95. Court costs
alone were over $30,000 and my credit report is only
now becoming correct again. Having a valid SS card in
the possession of a criminal make it a lot easier for
them to ruin your life than just having your DL.

Better make that 27,000,000; about 1 in 20 according to a news report
on NBC this evening. 12,000,000 work days each year wasted to
straighten out the mess. It is a SERIOUS problem.

As far as SSN on dirver's license. Who processes and keeps records on
state drivers and has access to license data? In many states it is
convicted fellons in the state prision. Food for thought.
