So what do you think?

A certain multi-poker machine at Wynn, that was previously mentioned
on this board, has a DDB paytable that apparently differs from every
other DDB paytable on the casino floor. I have played that machine on
all of my visits, but as of yet, have not seen anyone else play DDB on
that machine.

The question is: do you think the paytable was a deliberate decision
made by some slot executive? Or, some sort of mistake-error by
whomever programmed-installed the machines?

You like my machine? I'm pretty sure it is a mistake. The programer
didn't set the paytable to the same as the other nine in that bank.

There was a bank of six DDB progressives at GVR that was set wrong
at their opening. The reset was 101.8% and was often in the 103% to
104% range. That lasted from Dec 17th when they opened until the end
of April of the following year when they replaced their slot
director and she noticed the discrepancy. I was the last person to
hit 22224 and recieved $523 before it reset to the proper $200. For
4 1/2 months they paid out $300 too much on every set of 2,3, 4's
with kicker. I asked a couple floor people about it when I first saw
the game in Dec and they just shrugged their shoulders. Most floor
people have no clue. They tell me they do better at the grocery
store than at casinos and don't bother with the paytables.

Be glad there's one good paytable there and hopefully if will stay
around for quite a while.

When the Borgata opened in AC, for the first weekend, there were a bank of $0.25 AC Joker's Wild which paid a 4000+ coin progressive -- for a STRAIGHT FLUSH, which is normally 500 coins. They were in play for about 36 hours before they were pulled down and fixed.

You know, whenever an exceptionally strong paytable is reported AWOL
from a casino floor, I speculate on what prompted the removal. I
imagine there's a decent likelihood it came under scrutiny when
machine holds were surveyed and it was found to be subpar.

On the other hand, the predominence of evidence suggests that slot
managers often aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack and also are
prone more to knee jerk reactions than rational assessment. I don't
question that the wrong word in the right ear can have unfortunate
consequences.

Though I acknowledge there's little chance anything I'm likely to
say/write would have any consequence on the casino floor, I strongly
prefer to err on the side on caution. Don't look for me to discuss
machines such as those noted in these two posts on groups such as this
nor with floor personnel.

Someone mentioned some casino personnel not being the "brightest bulb
in the bunch". In light of the message below I am just wondering
about the advisability of mentioning an especially good play on the VP
floor to casino personnel. Maybe they are not the brightest in the
bunch, but pointing out something like this does not seem to
be "recommended". Just my opinion ...

Sorry about that. I seem to have simply repeated what Harry already
mentioned a few posts up the list.

That just makes it TWICE as true !

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot ! This is pretty much akin
to calling slot personnnel over to watch you play a really
cooperative machine that is producing jackpot after jackpot. Some
things are better left unsaid!
