Some of my best friends and relatives smoke, so I try to avoid them;
I find more entertaining and less boring a person who does not smoke,
at least I can breathe.
If I have a choice between a casino with bad ventilation and 100%
payback VP and a casino with less than 100% payback VP but great
ventilation systems, I would rather go to the second one. Thus I end
up at places like Bellagio or Mandalay Bay rather than Barbary Coast.
Meals are no problem since I can go to a non smoking restaurant or
section, far from the other section.
The problem is not solved totally by casinos with great ventilation,
a machine neighbor smoking always happens. Insults or a bad facial
expression never make the smoke go away. Some suggestions I have read
about are to carry one of thos small battery powered fans and when
someone lights up near you, turn it on. Another suggestion for the
stink on clothes is febreze spray. One wonderful thing the big hotels
on the Strip have is a great same day laundry service, the bad part
is that it is not cheap at all.
It is difficult for non smokers to cope with smoke. To cheer up, they
should tell themselve that there are plenty of things in life worse
than second hand smoke.
I know people mention this place too much, but I miss Silver City. I
remember how wonderful it was to gamble there, even if it was a sort
of dump, and breathe deeply. If any entrepreneur is reading, why not
develop a non smoking casino in Las Vegas? I can't be the only one
who would spend most of my time there even if it does not offer Not
So Ugly Ducks.
