Just checked out this site that has this great article on 60 slot
tips. What a coincidence, I just wrote one exactly, word for word,
like it. It's a miracle! The guy who pulled off this miracuous feat
is Ron Fortune, obviously a man of many talents, one of which is
blatant thievery. Oh yes, he does say that Terry Murphy, VP Pappy,
and a host of writers (all the ones that I used quotes from) gave him
a little help. How nice of him to heap such praise on his lowly
assistants.
It's happened to me before, but I'm always amazed by their
brazeness.

I would not let this slide. Gaming Today is not known for their high ethical standards and my brief contacts with them have been very.... what can I say?....unsatisfactory in the area of professionalism. This is pure and simple plagiarism. I think you can demand payment for the article or threaten to sue them!!!!

I'm not going to do anything crazy about this incident, because I
did send them the article and told them that if they printed it I
didn't want any compensation. I told them that I was only interested
in trying to help all those poor slot stuffers out there to
understand just what they were up against when they played those
money-munching machines.
But I just never thought that a magazine of that size and
reputation (at least in my mind) would lay claim to have written it
when they clearly hadn't. Hell, Casino Detroit Magazine has had it up
on their site for a week or so now with my name as the author, a fact
that they seemed to have overlooked. And I sent Rob Singer (in spite
of our differences, we still correspond because I happen to like guy)
the article a couple of weeks ago, and I think he writes for that rag.
When I sent Rob the article, he generally agreed with what what I
wrote, but typically Rob, took exception with my last premise that
you were better off forgetting the slots altogether, and buy some
video poker software,(meaning Win Poker or Frugal Poker ect.) learn
to play vp perfectly, because vp has a much higher return for your
money. He slays me. And I also sent a copy to Mark Pilarski and Al
Krigman a month ago to look over, a couple of other gambling guru
friends.
The part that hurts the most is that they took my last bit of
advice, number 60, which I thought was the most important, and
changed it to:
"60. And finally, buy some video poker software or "video keno guide
books," learn to play, and forget the slots altogether. Video poker
has a much higher return and "video keno has a much higher payoff."
No knowledgeable gambling writer in his right mind would recommend
playing Keno, what with its high house percentage. Not even old VP
Pappy, unless he had his usual way too many
scotch on the rocks, that is, which is often.
