This was just too good not to share. I love the last line...
Here's some good news that Don and one or two other critics will enjoy
reading about. For those of you who receive my e-newsletter you already
know, and for those of you who read Gaming Today weekly you'll see the whole
story in a month or less: Four 3's with a 2 kicker on a $25 8/5 DDB game at
the Venetian the day before yesterday.....and a $19,000 trip profit overall.
The best parts to focus on? First, it's DDB--a game the self-proclaimed
gurus say to stay away from if you want to win. Next, the 8/5 paytable is a
far cry from the 10/6 "they" say is 'the only one they'd ever play depending
upon the cash back and other nonsense'. Finally--and this is my favorite--my
deal was 3366X and I held the 3's as it qualified as one of the Singer
special plays for that particular situation. And you know what one of the
Floor Suprv.'s had for a comment? He recognized me, and after I was paid he
said "You're the only pro who tells the truth in your columns". "Everybody
reads you every week, and we can't wait for the next issue".

Gaming Today in particular is full of downright dangerous
misinformation, such as "how to beat" keno, roulette, the lottery, etc.
Their stories are occasionally amusing but lacking in that trifling
little commodity, facts. Several years ago they used to publish their
"absolute lock" "pick of the week" during NFL season in 32-point type
on the front page. It was a standing joke that all the badly stuck
gambler had to do was bet AGAINST the "lock of the week", and he would
get even. Of course, the source for this "lock" was casino
sportsbooks, who on Tuesday (the original date of publication), would
poll themselves to see which game was the worst out of balance. Thus,
if EVERYBODY put money on the Cowboys to beat the Giants, suddenly the
Giants would be the sure-fire gee-whiz mega-gonzo top absolute lock of
the week.
And of course, I hardly need mention that Gaming Today is where you
can find the befouled nest of a certain expert we all know and love,
namely,
Slob Stinker and his "The Truth About Nerfball" column (who did you
THINK I was referring to?).
So this latest example of plagiarism is hardly a surprise from a
publication whose ethical standards make the National Enquirer look
like the Christian Science Monitor.
