Slot wins shouldn't be taxable.. Here's why.

Hi all,

In 2002 I went to Canada, Niagara Falls. Friend of mine hit $4000 on VP. Attendant came with jackpot

win…4 $1000 bills. No paper work. I was there and asked attendant , “Does he have to sign or pay taxes on the win?” Lady paying win indicated , "Here we believe U already paid taxes on the money played

in machine. With slots we know that in long run casino is only winner." Not exact quote, but it’s close.

I remember the year because I drove to Canada the first week I had my first Jeep. I really liked that

Grand Cherokee. I have had others.

By now some government official from Canada may have discovered a new way to get $$$. Canada

may be collecting tax on win now??

Cheers…Jeep

Nope, gambling winnings are still tax free in Canada. If you win the lottery in Canada they hand you a check for the full amount take your picture and tell you to have a nice day.

Regards
