This is just a little related to the topic. The casino I last
visited announced all winners over a loud speaker. You know "We
have another winner, etc." It is actually irritating when you hear
all of these announcements and you are not getting anything. A win
is getting your money back on your hand!
The main point I want to make is they know instantly who won, how
much they won, what machine (demomination) and who knows what else
from their large computer in the backroom. They announce all of the
information above ending with "you too can be the next lucky
winner". I witness such an announcement that was made only seconds
after a small "jackpot" ($500) was "hit" on the machine next to me.
All $500 or more payouts are hand paid, but they are at your machine
in only a minute or two. I assume if you have a slot card in they
know even more and would think that they may expect to pay off a
Robert, not a Roberta when they get to the machine. I do not know
if they care, but it sure looks as though they know everything that
is going on!
