Strange behavior I've observed:
.Slapping or pounding the keys (wayyy too common).
.Playing so fast that obvious mistakes are made.
.Sloooooow play, usually by a newbie or someone waiting for others.
.Waving one's hands at or rubbing the screen, usually on a 4 to the
royal or three to a high playing four of a kind. Rubbing the screen
does weird things to touch screens.
.Trying to be "at one" with the machine, often includes leaning on the
machine. Usually happens with uprights.
.Use of the coin tray as an ashtray (ick).
.Play of a few coins on one machine, then moving on to the next
machine where the same is done, ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

Yes Pat, I have seen some of those in your list from
coast to coast even as far as Monte Carlo in Monaco.
It seems to be a universal phonomenon. Allow me to add
three more of these vp player oddities and strange
idiosyncracies:
1) A guy who seems to be playing, FPDW regularly at
Fiesta Rancho (seen him also at ACW and Texas Sta),
would hit the monitor with the edge of his quarter
coin every five deals (one and two-coin bets).
2) A lady (in Castaway) would make an end-of-the-world
gesture after every losing hand by raising both of her
hands in surrender.
3) At Sam's Town, a group of the same Easter Europeans
(seen them several times) would try to monopolize a
bank of 10/7 DB by cupping the seats. They use cigar
smoke as extremely effective repellants against any
stray invader who tries to get into their "franchised"
10/7 DB machines. Startling revelation: they don't use
proper VP strategy!

That last group sounds like the group that hogs the 8 Pick Em machines at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. Only they use cigarette smoke and nasty dispositions. If I go by there to play, half the time only four machines are being played and the others are cupped. They're not good strategy players either.
