I am an old member of Skip Hughes' Group. Still have my group pin, as well as my CLee lucky charm. Nice to see some of the oldies posting. I miss the days of our get-togethers at Christmas. Cardfather, I brought you a box of Ohio Buckeyes (chocolate and peanut butter candy) in return for some tickets you were giving away. I can't remember what the tickets were for, but believe you were working in the Smoke Shop at Fiesta.I played FPDW for many hours at Barbary Coast with Carol from Chicago and Shirl from, at that time, Dayton. I met Coach Vee and Hedy at the last get-together I attended at a casino which is now gone. It was on Boulder Highway almost to downtown. As you can see, my memory is getting bad. Those where the days! Skip is in my prayers for a speedy and full recovery. Through his group I first heard of Jean and read her books, visited her condo in Vegas and learned video poker. I made my first trip to Las Vegas in March, 1992. I had said for many years that I wanted to see Vegas at least once in my life. I have now made 58 trips, the last one in February of this year. I am sure the 59th will be in the next few months. If I had stayed with slots like I did for the first few years, I would never have been able to make that many trips. I have not, as most of you know, paid for a room or meals, for many, many years. More often than not I come home with my money or at least most of it. And, on occasion, I bring home considerably more. It's harder to find that good poker, but it is still there. I never sit down to play that I don't think of Jean's book inscription, "The more you study, the "luckier" you will be." It must be true, my luck has been great in the past two months. In two trips to the Grand Victoria in Indiana I have had 3 royals - one dealt dollar royal and 2 quarter royals. That was my third dealt royal, my fifth dollar royal and I have lost count of my quarter royals. I still study almost every day by playing Frugal Video poker and Winpoker. Thanks, Jean and thanks, Skip. You are both forever in my thoughts and prayers.
