Skip info vs. Vpfree info

Tom Simms provides a tremendous service with VPFREE. I don't know how he does
it without charging a fee for the site. The downside is that since there
isn't a fee, anyone can join and you have lots of flaming and off topic
discussions. I agree the db and info are very valuable and frequently more timely then
in updating inventory then VPMAIL. However, I think a fee for the site attracts
a more serious VP player and minimizes the 'noise' and off topic discussion.
I would gladly pay a fee to belong to VPFREE.
With that said, Skip Hughes is worth many times the cost. The discussion are
more focussed, there limited flaming and things are moderated before they get
out of hand. The info, strategy charts, top 40 are extremely valuable. Video
Poker Player is loaded with VP info and provides straight forward regional VP
info.

They're both great sites just one is more underpriced then the other.

If anyone is thinking about subscribing to vpmail2 or whatever Skip
Hughes is calling his message group now, it should be noted that for
FREE, Tom Sims maintains a MUCH more detailed, FAR nore accurate VP
database than Skip Hughes does. Updates frequently take months to
get into the vpmail databases (whatever he calls them now.)

Nonetheless, I would recommend subscribing to vpmail2 because there
will be some good info there among all the self-aggrandizing chest-
beating blather. Just keep in mind that the members of that group
have a different...um, attitude about sharing VP info.

Oh, and if it isn't free, spend your money elsewhere

I won't get into a discussion on which site is better, however, I must disagree with the statement about the downside to VPfree, it has nothing to do with the site being free. If our administrator wanted to, he could police the site and throw out anybody he wants to. he chooses not to do that.He has chosen to have a more democratic site and encourages members to use self policing and self restraint, It has nothing to do with the cost of being a member. I must agree that this site would be better if the members tried to be more on topic .
