Skip Hughes

People also need to separate the person from the video poker crap. I did that here, and I do it all the time when I meet people from vpFREE who don't exactly see things in vp as I do.
From what I remember Bob, most vpmail members would have liked to have me come in and debate them & Skip rather than me just being called names. It's always bothered me about Skip that he would rather just hate me than talk to me.

The really sad part of the story is that it is true. I saw it happen.
I was part of Skip's group even before he starting charging money for
it. I still have my group pin.

I believe the majority would of liked to have had that debate but Skip
ran the group with an iron hand and would not allow it. He seemed to
take it personal and his mind was made up no matter what anyone said. I
do not know if any conclusion would of come from a debate, but not
having it we would never know, and most people, to this day, still only
believe that there is only one way to play VP, and that anything that
departs from what the VP Gods say, is evil. What bullshit.

I have been playing VP since 1980 when I was living in Reno. I have
studied the game a long time, and listened to all side and ideas. No
one has a corner on the truth and I have found nuggets of good playing
ideas from many people. But to dismiss an idea out of hand because you
do not happen to like someone is not right. I have met the majority of
the VP Gods that still ply their trade and are still active and I do not
think much of them, but then I also know some of the nasty stuff that
went on in the late 80's and early-mid 90's.

I have to say that there are some very nice people that I have met over
the years that subscribe to the VP Gods theories but I could never be
apart of that group again. For Skip it was always "my way" or the
highway. I wound up on the highway after he kicked me out a year after
he started charging. I assumed at the time that my questions and ideas
must of threatened him. But I look at it as having saved a lot of
money. I could reference lots of things that have happened to Skip's
group and the people in it over the years that they do not like to talk
about, but what's the point.

I do wish Skip well and hold no anger towards him. Skip is Skip. I
truly hope he does get well and returns. After all, who would I have to
complain and argue about. Come to think of it, I do know a couple of
others that sell lots of VP junk.
