Skip Hughes

I got a message today from one of my e-newsletter members telling me that Skip was going thru something like Patrick Swayze is. I don't know how true that is, but I do know Skip's been MIA for quite a while. I wish him comfort---with whatever's happening.

For obvious reasons Skip never liked me or anything I've done or said, and he wasn't and still isn't shy about it. He chose to be my "enemy" when all we're talking about here is video poker. He chose to lie, slander and libel me whenever he had the opportunities, and multiple times I and I think once or twice, CF tried to get me be a speaker at one of his meetings. But he didn't want me to get any of his attention and instead, wanted to continue bad-mouthing me without interruption.

He absolutely HATED when my book was published by a LV house that was and still is a respected business in the gaming world, and he absolutely HATED the fact that after he & Dancer were fired from Gaming Today, I was sought out and brought on for 7-1/2 straight years as their vp columnist--and finishing up last year as their most popular columnist ever. Plus they did it for (what else?) PAY and I wrote everything FOR FREE. Not my problem he needs to charge people ridiculous fees to receive an e-newsletter or visit his site. Not my problem he needs to market whatever he can for income. Not my problem he can't win at video poker. He should have listened to me way back when and he wouldn't have needed to turn into what he did.

When a player such as myself wins so much when so many so-called "experts" cannot, it irks them. I understand that because I used to hate winners too when I was a losing "advantage player", but again, it's ONLY video poker. If you just don't have anything else that's way more interesting going on in your life, you're really quite the failure. But Skip is one of the few who chose to take it all to a personal level over the years. I've never understood his obsession with me, and I don't miss that at all.

I have to say that this is the lowest post I have ever read.

Singer, this man is ill, and you use this time to get back at him?

You sir, are the epitome of an asshole ... no wait, I take that back, you sir, are simply an asshole.

The really sad part of the story is that it is true. I saw it happen.
I was part of Skip's group even before he starting charging money for
it. I still have my group pin.

Now, on the surface it may seem a little contemptible for Singer to use news of Skip's illness to reiterate the ways in which he felt maligned by Skip.

But my guess is that Skip doesn't have too much of a problem with Singer's post. While I've never picked up that Skip holds the animosity toward Singer that Singer claims, Skip made no bones that he didn't have much use for Singer.

As such, I don't expect Skip has too much of a problem with whatever Singer chose to vent here. For that matter, Skip may actually take some pride in having (indirectly) provoked it. Skip doesn't like Singer ... Singer acknowledges it. What more might you ask for?

Harry, you're probably right. Skip must somewhat enjoy the fact that indirectly he has made Singer look like a small, petty, contemptuous little man, who apparently has an obsession with Skip that has lasted a long long time.

At least I hope he is well enough to enjoy that fact. But as you point out, more than likely he doesn't give a rats behind about Singer. He has more important things to worry about, and I do wish him the best. TR --- In FREEvpFREE@yahoogroups.com, "Harry Porter" <harry.porter@...> wrote:
