Single-coin strategies desired

Ahhh, yes, that's what I mean. That's how I was able to condense my
personal strategy chart for six different versions of JoB to just 32
steps. But just out of curiosity, why bother to include the EV? One
need only look for the _best_ hand, which really makes the EV immaterial.

Some people just want to know. However, there is a practical
reason as well. Suppose you encounter a progressive or a quad promotion.
Now you can easily recalculate the value of hands such as a pair or
a RF3 to get the EV for that situation. Now you can see if any
strategy changes occur.

Here is the way this works. Suppose the EV for RF3 in some
game is 8 coins when the RF is 4000 coins. Now suppose the RF
is 5081 coins for a progressive. We know the RF will fill in
1 in 1081 times. So, the average number of coins we win due to
the increased value of the RF is exaclty 1 coin. So we now have
the new EV for the RF3. That is simply 8 + 1 = 9. This
rule applies to all games with a 52 card deck. Similar calculations
work for hands such as RF2 and pairs. The whole point is to see
if any hands lie between the old and new value. Maybe the EV
for a high pair in this fictional game is 8.5 coins. Now we can
make the appropriate strategy change without needing to rerun the
strategy. This is real handy if you are away from your computer.
