WARNING! WARNING! CYNICAL RANT BELOW!

Unfortunately this promotion seems to be worth very little.
I am almost certain that it is designed by the casino to
have the appearance of randomness but in reality is far
from it. The four cards "selected" by the casino to be
part of the final five card hand are most likely chosen
so that the possible prizes will be very low. Also
the selection of "cards" that players earn will also
probably be non-random and will further extend the
casino's restriction of the prizes to the very low ones.

I got $5 each of the two days I participated. On the 1st
the four posted cards contained a small pair. Yesterday,
the 2nd, the four cards were 2,3,4,5 allowing only a straight
or one pair as final hands.

Of course based on a sample of only two I cannot
say that I have any mathematical basis for my opinion.
But, I have several years experience with casino
promotions. I also know quite well to what depths a casino
is willing to descend in order to separate customers
from their cash all the while giving them the illusion
that they have a chance to win big.

Caveat emptor!

Now, go out and beat those terrible odds!

It has to be non-random. They can't take the chance that the community cards might be four to a royal and have to pay $10,000 to so many people.

Wow, that's really lame. I'll be there on the 18th, so I'll participate, but won't have much as far as expectation goes.

It wasn't necessary for me to type it in, thank goodness. I just copied and pasted it in from Silverton's web site.

We have picked 4 cards so far. All have been 5's. If that is any help. Got us $15 each the first day, $3 the second.
Promo is worth $3 to $25 so far. Nothing more that that. Very anti climatic considering all the other prizes, and drawings Silverton had last month.
So do you want to play 500 pts for a prize worth $5-$10 or 500 pts for the same amount of money. Same thing to the casino... But I think people like "stuff" more than cash.

Well for 500 points, what were you expecting?

Sure more is better, but (sometimes) the casinos have to come up with promotions that can actually make them money.
