A friend today tells me Silverton cut the value of slot points by 50%. Can anyone else confirm this.
Silverton Point Value
I figured a surprise was coming when our January mailers suddenly had lots of 2x point days for VP.

Is it just me or was there a general market move against VP players at local casinos in 2017?

Yes it’s now $4/point on VP.

They also threw in a few paytable reductions just in case. They don’t deserve happy holidays.

Is this $4/point on ALL VP or just on games with the better schedules? Is there a brochure at the players club desk describing this change?
Brad and I had planned to check things out there today since I was suspicious that the unexpected 2x days on VP in our January mailer might be some sort of a “casino trick.” But we are both down with a virus so we can’t check on this ourselves. However this is a MAJOR downgrade for serious VP players. It was becoming a marginal play before even if you played the highest EV games and made several trips there a week and took advantage of every extra benefit - promotion/tournament/offer. We had already crossed it off our play list since we don’t have the energy to chase extras like we used to. I imagine more players will do so since the downgrade may be too much for even just recreational players.
Makes South Point look like a better play for many players - at the moment. Each month I wonder what casino will shoot a new and bigger cannonball into the VP front lines!!!

I spent about a half hour trying to get info from the booth as they do not have any brochures. I had a floor supervisor take me around to show me the 6 wheel poker machines that they labeled optimum that are $8/point. The rest of the VP machines seem to be $4/point. When you put your card in the reader it comes up with a notification that says $4/point. Slots are $1/point.
I won’t be playing there anymore.
