Silverton Downgrade

There were definitely NSUD machines between the buffet and the Mexican restaurant that were downgraded. The machines just outside both entrance doors to the High Limit room have not been downgraded yet as well as one slanttop bank by the new bar.

I doubt they will still be okay after today. They were put out of service last night at midnight. I would guess their "maintanence" will include more than air duster.

I know this view may be controversial, but I applaud Silverton for simply downgrading the paytables they find intolerable. With this information, the player is free to choose rather to continue playing the inferior inventory or move on. I find this method preferable to Karen Dorsey's approach at Ellis Island where she trespasses players after they have played and confiscates their earned comps and future mailers. A similar approach is that of Stations, Fiestas, Wynn, and Cannery Resorts where they allow players to play with the expectation of future mailers but then without notice deprive the players AFTER they have played if they are judged to be advantage players.

I'm considered an advantage player at Fiesta & Cannery because of the multipliers I use along with the offers and freeplay, I've won very consistently at both locations and much more often than anyone would expect, I've been absolutely killed at various Stations, but there has been no change in either my mailers or what I expect my mailers to be at any of these casinos. Wynn OTOH has had no rhyme or reason to their mailers for myself or my wife.

Where did you get your information about depriving players? I don't play at Ellis Island because I don't like the people or the stench over there, but are you saying they've wiped out some player's earned POINTS or just their perceived earned comps? Anyone here been a victim?

I was there for free Play today and the Banks by the High Limit Doors and The Banks by the Blue Bar have been downgraded to 20-12-9-4-4-3-2-1 at the .25 and .50 level (Idiot deuces?). At the $1 n 2 level to 15-9 PNSU...
I'm surprised this is being applauded, akin to only having one foot shot off instead of both, I'm not applauding because I'm "stuck" at the Silverton after making Gold Tier in less than 5 months .
The Mi Casa bar still has a 9/6 JOB at the $1 level.
Joanie the Host will be informed that my play will be taken elsewhere.
If everyone lets them know this is a problem it might be changed...
No more multiple points at the E.Cann or the SouthPoint, advantage play will soon be history at this rate.
I doubt I will degrade myself to playing Caveman Keno.

Its being "applauded" as the lesser of two evils.

If one gets "no mailed", then all future bounceback is lost, even though one has already "earned" it. And at the Silverton, you are talking >$1000 per month for the higher players. When one chooses to play at any casino, the value of all considerations is included in the decision making process. For some, food and rooms are important, for others its the bounceback. For us locals, food and rooms have very little value. Therefore I consider bounceback and cashback to be prime considerations when evaluating which casino to play.

By simply removing the NSUD, then future mailers will continue and the player "gains" $1,500 or so (assuming that no more play is given and the value of the bounceback decreases over time).

Why does "food" have very little value? I'm not a local but my regular playing friends there tell me they save thousands on grocery bills each year, and they use it to strengthen their advantage play %.

Joanie is a great gal and has nothing to do with how they set the machines. She was complaining to me while we sat in her bosses skybox at the Laker game, that they still hadn't sent out anything for New Years Eve. Finally got my invitation a week later. The game was Dec. 6th.

When I was trespassed at Ellis Island, I demanded my cash back for my point balance and was paid. Monthly mailers at Ellis Island include free food and free slot play, so I lost six plus months worth of both at the time of my trespass. I guess Karen Dorsey can use this stolen money to buy more witty customized license plates for her Jag.

Cash back is required to be paid. The mailers are generated by their computers and are never guaranteed. That may be the price you paid for getting too cozy with a slot hostess. I never trust them further than I can throw them.

Food is the easiest comp to get at any casino. Anyone who plays at even a moderate level has more food comps than they can use. You can only eat so much. Law of diminishing returns.

That still doesn't translate into of little value. Thousands of dollars in saved groceries means something even to Bob Dancer. Look at what he just did to get $4000 in food from Railroad Station.

Sorry, but additional food comps are of little value to me. I can eat for "free" in over half-a-dozen casinos anytime I want. Adding an additional casino to that list adds very little (if any at all) increase in the EV of the game played.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
