Can anyone give me some information on Silverton Hotel and Casino in Vegas? I will be staying there for a few nights in August for a wedding, not sure if it's worth contacting a host in advance, wait until I get there and play first or not bother at all. This may be the only time I stay there but still hate paying for a room.

Although there are a few progressives, generally speaking the best game there is 8/5 Bonus Poker --- which you can find from nickels (by playing 1 line on a Hundred Play machine) to either $2 Ten Play or 25c Hundred Play --- with lots of denoms in between. The slot club returns 0.30% in free play. They have a new marketing director and there haven't been 2x point days in either June or July. Who knows about August --- but you should assume it will not be in effect when you're there. I don't know what it takes to get room and meal comps. Hosts are generous with the local regulars --- but I don't know about the non-locals. Bob
