Currently, Silverton management needs convincing that loosening pay
schedules will bring in more customers. Those of you who are in that
area and believe that Vegas needs more casinos with FPDW, 10/7, and 10/6
(among several other good games), should probably drop by and give the
machines some play. They are expecting the hold on the machines to be
relatively low, but need to see some impressive "coin in" for this
experiment to be considered a success.

I have never been it the joint and alas, don't even have a card. My
perspective is as a regional drive-in player. I could see doing a couple initial
hours of play hopefully on a class day. But to give Siverton a shot at my money I
would need a room. Hopefully, Siverton thinks of themselves in the line of
the Primm and Jean casinos.

I stopped-by Gold Strike in Jean last November for the first time and got my
card. They got a couple hundred hands of FPDW to see what happens. To my
surprise, I got a "welcome to the club" offer for one comped night and a couple
of food coupons. I could not do the quick turnaround that they wanted, but it
was nice that they asked.

So, how was the turnout for the first classes? Did the restaurant set-up
work?

The first week (Jacks or Better), there were about 80 seats in
the restaurant, and it was SRO for both classes. The second week (FPDW),
they used a different configuaration and smaller chairs and were able to
get 120 seats in. We had a total of 112 people --- although some were
the beginner class only and some were the intermediate class only. For
the third week (next Tuesday --- 10/7 DB), we'll have a larger screen
and I'll have a lavalier microphone rather than a hand-held. This will
allow me greater mobility in asking and answering questions.

You implied that you were willing to play a couple of hours of
25¢ FPDW "on spec" to see if you got any offers in the mail. That's
fine. That seems to be a rational way to go, given your non-local
status.
