Silverton begins cashback April 1st

I received the anticipated notice yesterday detailing the cashback beginning April lst. Unfortunately, there was no credit venue to convert our
existing points. Boo-hoo!

Upward and onward starting next month but it will be many a day before we can use our existing points that for many of us are in the millions.
They hinted at gift cards for old points but right now its mainly rooms, food, Bass Pro Shop, and miscellaneous from the lobby gift shop. In a similar
example to the Palms "before cash" points, its quite difficult to use points for food, gift shop items, jewelry, etc.

The main consideration now is how this will affect their monthly rewards mailers. It also figures that multiplier days will be few and far between versus
the past where birthday anniversaries were 7x, 8x and 9x up to 100K. Meanwhile the M, South Point, and now Silverton seem to be at the consistent
0.333% with the South Point sweetening the pot this month by making the points viable to buy $50 gas cards for $25 cash from points. Very timely
indeed!

Cya around the circuit.

Cashback in the form of free play.

<<Meanwhile the M, South Point, and now Silverton seem to be at the consistent

Slight correction, I believe - .3003 ($333 coin-in gets you $1)

I too am disappointed that we can't redeem our old points for FP. The only half-way bright spot is that it will take only 500 points for $1 of Bass gift cards, rather than the former 1000. However, that doesn't help much for us as we need/want very few items in that huge store - no, I don't want a camouflage recliner and couch! The winners here will be the Frugal Princess family, who is definitely an outdoor family!!!!

Can old points be used for this or only newly earned ones?

If $300 of play earns $1 in cash back, which I believe is true of the M and the South Point, then cash back is 1/3% (.333%).

vpFREE database says 333 points equals $1 for both M and South Point. Is that incorrect? I don't play at either place now so I have forgotten.

South Point advertises 1000 pts = $3 freeplay/cash back for whatever rate
that gives.

If you aren't into formulas, here is an easy way to remember how to figure slot club percentage EV once you know how many dollars it takes to earn a point and how many points it takes to redeem a dollar in CB, FP, or comps.

Take the big number into the little one. (I'm good at Simple - remember I used to teach slow learners English in high school and I have used that experience to uncomplicate some math for VP players. That is also why I requested a Slot Club Calculator in the FVP software!)

Use your calculator. 3 divided by 1000 is .003. Move decimal point two places to get a percentage. You have .3%.

Yes. Too many "3"s confused me.

Watch out, some machines may be slower than others. There is talk of turning down the point value on all their 99%+ machines.

I'll of course alert everyone if I hear for certain and Bob will likely talk about it on-air.

It's more than talk. The mailer said it would take $4 to earn a point on optimum games.

<<The mailer said it would take $4 to earn a point on optimum games.>>

But what is their definition of "optimum." That has traditionally, in other casinos like the Stations, meant the highest "full-pay" paytable
available from the manufacturer. I guess Silverton could mean the "highest paytable available in their casino." If they do that, can they distinguish between many games in one machine? I had heard that was not possible. Is there new software that CAN show whether you are playing 8/5 Bonus Poker or a lower EV VP game or one of the slot games and award points at a different rate for each one???

I stated what their definition of "optimum" was. Anything 99% or better.

That's my info as of now. I will update that if I hear different.

If the 8-5 bonus poker games are 1/4 pointed, that will kill Silverton for ME! That makes it worse than M, where 8/5 is the "best" game. I have been wondering if 8/5 is worth playing for FULL points.

i think this topic may be mixing south point and silverton together...

That is because, they are all VERY close to one another and are direct competitors.
Silverton was the last hold out for cash back.
The others have always been that way, 333 pts. to the Dollar.

But there are no "good" games at M or Silverton. Best is 8/5 Bonus poker. So what are they going to consider "optimum" play? If it is 8/5, they may as well give up as far a Video Poker goes.

Even M gave up the 1/4 pt. thing, and now has some 25 cent jacks for full pts. Of course they are so slow you really can't get many points. They killed their high limit room by lowering all the pay tables. 7/5 Bonus in there is the "best" for us $1 and under players.

Silverton is just trying to compete with the conpetition. Will know tomorrow what they consider optimum. Supposed to be clearly marked!
