SILVER LEGACY

Yes, the quarter full pay duces games are back! Same six MGMD machines
in the south east corner that housed the previous games that were
downgraded in December, 2007.

What has changed is the speed of play. No choice, one speed, medium,
no turbo.

Also, now for the full pay duces games it takes $80 of coin in to get a
point towards comps. Standard is $20 coin in for a point. NSUD & KBJP
I played are still $20 coin in for a point.

I did not look for the other new video poker additions of all star
poker, wheel poker & super triple play.

Were they ever really gone or was that just a rumor somebody started?
If you want to change the speed, a knowledgeable key person or slot
tech can do it for you. Are quarter royals ($1000) a hand pay? I think
they are, in which case you should know you are being tracked.
Speaking of being tracked, has everybody checked out the Mindplay
tables at Eldorado?

There you go again NOTI - the non-believer. Unless you're joking.
I'll risk my cred by saying, yes, I personally verified the Dec 2007 change in paytable of
the 6 FPDW's at SL to some 9-4-4 WTHATD (WhereTheHeck Are The Deuces - to use
Babe's term..). and lemme remind you: the E in vpFae stands for Emeritus- and you don't
get that title without a trustworthy method and network which keeps the database
accurate. All Hail!

You remind me of a Grateful Dead song lyric:
"Comes a Time...
when the blind man
takes your hand, 'n says,
"Don't you SEE?"

If you want to change the speed, a knowledgeable key person or slot
tech can do it for you.

Amen- smart advice. The techs are the guys in the blue coveralls with a tool belt on. They
are VERY helpful at Silver and they'll usually stop to help you immediately if you flag them
down. Straight talkin' mavericks, not suckin up for tips and they know what their doin.
You can tell they don't give a ratsass about bosses, cameras and all the b.s. They don't do
any of that pansy hand clap thing when they close up the machine - the money in the
machine IS genuinely chickenfeed to what they get paid (maybe), or they don't bother to
attend the employee training that tells them to clap for the cameras. These are the guys
that keep the big money machines functioning, I'll bet management doesn't mess with the
techs.

Are quarter royals ($1000) a hand pay? I think
they are, in which case you should know you are being tracked.

So, unless you play without a slot card- aren't you always getting tracked? What's so . .
....Uh oh, is this more innuendos that if you actually PLAY the full pay 25c games that
Silver Legacy offers, to lure you in by advertising 100% EV games, that you will get asked
to leave or worse. C'mon mate! Give it up.

[ I mean, the worst that was somewhat verified in Reno in the last year or so is that
comps were shut off for some 'AP's' at casino X, after pounding a mistake-type paytable?
Had to be $1 denom or higher I'm guessin. I don't think they were trespassed nor their
knuckles broken. ]

I just KNEW you have a scam site or two in your favorites list.
INFO is good.
Enjoyin the banter.

& thanks for the timely report on Silver's re-intro of the FP ducks, to Chiefponytailguy.

Are Mindplay tables still at Eld? If so, I think they're the last
casino to still have them on the floor. I must admit that I'm quite
shocked that the ploppies actually objected to this game which led to
it's demise (Flamingo in LV had almost all MP tables at one point...now
there are zero there).

On a different topic, has anyone recd a cash offer from SLegacy in the
past couple months? The last one I recd was valid thru the end of
March.

Medium speed is not too bad if you turbo the rack up of credits after a
winning hand. For a quarter player I found the Legacy machines
playable. I can also confirm the coin in required is $80/pt on the
FPDW which is 4 times as much as other VP This has also happened at
the Peppermill with the quarter 10/7 DB Progs. It's hard to know at
a "don't tell" casino but a few months ago I asked if I had enough
comps to take a couple friends to the steak house and the answer
was "oh yes,we won't turn you down for anything you ask for". The
other day I asked for a coffee shop comp for $30 and my account had to
be put in a neg balance. Since I'm a local all I ever ask for is a
modest dinner at the coffee shop. So I checked the point count using
the locals "Rainbow of Free Play" promo. Sure enough, playing DB
racked up about 1/4 as many points as NSUD. With the same amount of
play I guess I had been slowly draining the excess in my account with
no way of knowing it was happening. At least at the SL you know how
much you have and can be alerted to a change.

BTW, the machines I really like are the new ones that you can control
both the speed and the VOLUME level. Nice! Found those at the EW in
Laughlin.

Nancy

My last offer expired at the end of April. I called yesterday just to
make sure and sure enough I have no offers (other than entertainment
on weekends at casino rate.) This seems to happen at SL now and then.
They just stiff you on offers for a couple of months and then they
resume.

A slot tech can turn down the volume of a machine also. Casino
management seems to think noise is good, most players and workers hate
it, besides the osha violation and longterm hearing loss it causes.
Worst case, most casino gift shops sell inexpensive foam ear plugs,
they work great. While you're there pick up some post-it notes to
stick on the machine to block the glare from the overhead spotlights.
Spotlights on video screens, whose bright idea was that? And the
Legacy is one of those casinos where you should bring your own
portable chair. They have their own custom made seats, they look nice,
but they are actually worse than the old standard IGT torture seats.

Well that just goes to show you can't please everyone. I love the
Legacy's new chairs. They are by far the most comfortable casino
chairs I've ever played on. Those chairs actually make me want to
play longer when I play there - I even told one of their supervisors
that.

BY holding down the Deal/Draw button after the drawn hand comes in...

I do this every hand, win or lose. Occasionally I let a quad make some
noise, but I am NOT the type who needs to showoff to my neighbors.
Quite the opposite, I'd rather they not know I'm 'hitting'. Altho I DO
tend to pull out my index card and scribble down the quad in my stat
column.

Are you talking about the Big Black, boxy machines with a mini- hood
over the display?

When these oversize machines first showed up at Peppermill, I really
liked them - big flat deck for you drink, your optional ash tray. The
card display was different and yes- I really liked the speed AND
volume controls on the upper left and right touchscreen.

The Pepps offering on the main aisle across from the restroom near the
Sports bar has 9/6 25c DDB Prog ONLY. I've done dozens of 15-45min
sessions on this bank since Oct '07. I've developed two somewhat
minor complaints:

The buttons are still set kinda tight, meaning it takes just a wee
more finger pressure to hold a card than the standard slant tops or
uprights. Over hundreds of hands, it takes it's toll on your finger
muscles. They are also spaced just a tad too far apart. probably 1/16 in.

The other minor complaint is the Font of the Card display: It's kind
of squared off and makes that immediate recognition of what the card
is difficult- it takes a second look, which, again, when you play fast
is costly to your play rate.

To me, this is offset by the incredible SPEED at the top setting, and
by the great ergonomics of the flat surface, the hooded screen, the
chair and foot rest, etc.

Pepps now has more of these new type machines in the New gaming area
that was the removed Food Court. They are Multi-Game (MG) and the vp
has short paytables. I tried playing "Triple Trouble". It's a Bonus VP
poker game, only 1-1 for 2 pair, and the little upper right part of
the screen has three devil heads. When all 3 pop up, you get 3 TIMES
the Paytable payoff! That lasts for more than one hand, might be 3: I
can't recall the duration - but your credits get used up at the same
rate during this Bonus period. So, back in April I played about 30
minutes and got a total of 3 of those bonus periods. It was NOT
frequent enough to overcome the drain of the poor paytable. I've never
seen discussion of this game on vpFree - might search after I post this.
But anyhow- those are the same big box machine type.

The old Food court area also has a lot of these big-boxers set up with
slots only.

The techs were just installing these type at Harrah's St Louis when I
was there last month, but hadn't opened them up to players yet.

I haven't seen them anywhere else in Reno.
