Silver Legacy T/R - May 2007

Day 1: travel good on Southwest. Limo to Silver Legacy. Corner suite,
floor 34, great view. I grabbed my $500 bonus cash, up $500 to here.

First surprise: the south mezzanine is now NON-SMOKING! Metal floor
signs greet the gamers between Rum Bullions and the Circus-Circus
"green-line". Includes the main aisle! No ash-trays! Enforced!
Non-smokers happy, smokers unhappy. As I like a stogie every couple
hours, I had no long sessions on the multi-line DDBs.

Next change: the $1 DDB progs on the main floor have been re-arranged.
Was one group of 4 on a linked prog meter and a group of 16 on a
linked meter. There are now two groups of 10 with each group on a
separate meter, perpendicular to the previous set-up. One prog was a
couple hundred less than the other during my stay. The one I played a
bit (and my friends played a LOT) got up to $4555.

Another change: the SW quadrant Bonus poker coin-dropper prog bank is
MIA. Also gone: the NE quadrant BP progs.

Gamed from 7PM- 2:15AM, skipped dinner, but I woofed a nice
rich chunk of filet mignon & king salmon, a doggie bag gift from my
friends (M & L).

I hit a quad A for $200 on 25c DDB 5-play (`DDBx5') about 9:30. Hit
dealt quad 2's on $1 BP for 200. Got quad 8s playing $2 coin DDB late
night for 500. While I was playin in the high limit area, an older
lady walks up and asks how am I doin? I don't say much and she blurts
out " I just won $50,000 !!!" She hit the top slot prize on a $5 coin
machine and hadn't got paid yet. Wild.

Summary of day 1: 7 hrs, down 200.

Day 2: I got gaming before 10AM amazingly. Felt great from a good
sleep. Today I got in about 14 hrs gamin. I stayed in plus-territory
thanks to Quad ducks for 250 on the 25c DW and quad 3s for 400 on the
$1 DDB. The 4RF count is up to 14 already, I'm starting to note their
frequency. About 3PM I had a down session on the $1 DDB progs which
triggered a visit to high limit to play $2 coin BP and DDB. Down $1K
in there. I pulled out of that tailspin to play 9/6/90 JoB 100-play.
A sweet dealt FH for 225 made for a profitable session. I switched to
50c SDDB near the south wall mens room. Got a dealt quad 2s and drew
the 4 kicker for $400.
About 4:45 I start noticing many banks of dark machines and I notice
the slot card readers aren't working. Players are confused and the
attendants are in turmoil. I know something major is going on, and I
decide not to stick around for the chaos. I take a good 45 min room
break. Order is restored when I return to the mezz for some 50c 10/6
DDB multi-line. A couple of bonus quads for 400 make for an up session.

7:30, I'm down 1000 on the day, but it's dinnertime at Sterling with
M&L. The place is packed, 20 min til we get seated, but I enjoy my
porterhouse steak & do my share to finish a bottle of Ferrari-Carano
Cabernet Sauvignon. 9:15 and we head back to multi-lines on the mezz.
I drop 400 there, and 200 more on a $2 coin spurt on ACE$BP.

No Royals. Yet. Lots of 4-part RFs, I'm up to about 20 of them. A few
happen while I'm playin' a short spell of $2 coin- one 4RF there was
dealt and I flashed to my $8K RF from last June.

I'm up til 1:30AM, roughly even the rest of the sessions, doing 20 min
stints on all my favorite VP games all over the casino. My mood is
still good despite my depleted bankroll.

Day 3
Sunday - up & gamin about noon. I enjoy a stogie on the south
mezzanine - where it's quiet and smoking is still allowed. There's 25c
individual progs there: one BP and two DDB's. I find M&L at the $1
DDB- M. scored a 50c RF ($2K + w-2G) on the DDB 3-play earlier in the
morning. They stay happy most of the day, up a little for the trip.
Nothin' exciting for me until right at 3PM, when the big Sunday
drawing is held. Silver Legacy has gone electronic for the big Sunday
3PM drawing, no more tickets, a computer screen ruffles thru the
"tickets" to pick a name. Bizarre. I had maybe 130 `entries'. You
`redeem them at the kiosks. Also at the kiosk you can view your comp
account details (charges).

So, I head for this bank near the drawing area, so I can
hear my name if/when called. I play 50c DDB, (or 50c BP), sort of a
tradition I've developed. I usually drop a couple hundred and of
course, never get called. Well, I've had a dearth of bonus quads this
trip, and in about 20 hands I get quad 3's with a 2 kicker for $400,
TWICE!. Yay. Then in another 20 hands I skank Quad As with a kicker
for $1000. Machine freezes for hand pay (stupid). So,there I am,
stuck. M&L stayed at the $1 DDB prog bank, where they parked a lot of
the day. No one to watch my machine when my name doesn't get called.
But, I'm not called and the attendant shows up. I take my new stash
over to show off to M&L, as I had been gettin a tad grumpy as my
bankroll was dwindling. I sure turned that around, all smiles, now
I'm Mr. Wonderful.

A dribble down 400 or so, even with an odd $300 quad 3 playin 50c
Triple Bonus Plus (TB+), then dinner about 6:15 with M&L at
Fairchilds. Fish & Chips (greasy but tasty) and a great jumbo shrimp
Caesar salad for me. M. had the Oyster Soup, it was packed with
monster oysters, he could barely finish it. Plus he picked up the tab
after a struggle- both of us were maxed out on our comp
accounts,($600), so our play wasn't earning more comps.

Down another $700 or so and it's 10PM. I decide to taxi
over to Peppermill to collect $200 freeplay. I print my
Southwest group A boarding pass near the Pepps bell desk at the handy
self-serve computer & printer kiosk. VP goes smoothly, I grab $150
after playin out the freeplay hands on 25c Bonus poker. I hit a quad
playin 7/5 Super Aces bonus triple play 25c for $62. I piddle away $30
of my $200 on the way out payin an absolutely stupid video poker game
called pick-a-pair. I taxi back & am gamin at Silver at 11PM. My
friends have disappeared to sleep.

The $200 from Pepps gives me a 25 minute run on the $1 DDB with the
prog at $4500. I stay even thanks to a $250 quad. Then in a 10 min
session of $2 ACE$BP I blow the $200. May I say the 4-part RF's have
been frequent and taunting. Many more dealt 4RF's today than usual,
at least 6, on all denoms.

Down a couple more 100's at 1:15. I drop $400 on a long $1 DDB run
with 3 exciting yet annoying 4 RFs on the draw. I close out the nite
on the mezzanine 3-play 50c DDB, with only some nourishment quads to
take me to 3AM. One more dealt 4RF maybe 50 hands from the end of my
last session on $1 ACE$BP. Wallet empty. Ugh and Ugly. Down $3K on the
trip.

I'll have to visit the ATM tomorrow, probably sleep in past noon, I
always get a late checkout of 2PM.

Day 4:
Up about 11:30, and a leisurely pot of coffee later I'm all packed
with bag to bell desk, limo reso made, checked out and casino-bound
about 12:45. As you'll recall from last night, my wallet is empty,
save a $20 and a few $5's. So, I stop by the ATM to get some gaming
tender. $500 ain't much even if I stick to quarters, but I'm 'due' to
hit something, right?

It takes me 3 1/2 hours to lose the $500. Highlight hands: 25c DDB x
3: quad 2, no kicker dammit, for $100. On 50c Super DDB I hit quad T
for $125. On 25c DDB I am dealt KQT hearts and draw the 9J for a $62
SF. Big whoop, but I am actually enjoying exhibiting such patience.
I am again tortured by a plague of 4 part Royals, a few on the deal
today, many more after the draw. I'm sure my count if over 40 4RF's
for the trip. Sooooo close. I need one to come in.

When I first see M&L, I learn L. hit a dealt quad 2's with a kicker on
the 50c DDB 3-play for $1200 earlier in the morning. She says she was
down to $100 in her purse. Good thing for her.

I use my $500 emergency account. I work it up a $100 on 25c DDB. Not
easy, but I hit a couple $62 quads. I "up denom" to 50c, play DDB
and lose that 100.
Then, down $100 on the mens room DDB bank, with the RF prog
there at $1169. At the same Multi-game machine, I 'up' to 50c denom
and play ACE$BP. I score dealt Quad 9s for $62, nice nourishment,
which is important when you are 'bumping bottom', to use a fishing
term.

Ten minutes later, I'm dealt a mess of spades and the dang machine
freezes up! HEY! There's a lot of paint in that poker hand, and a
cryptic message: Call attendant.
Hey! I think I hit a Royal! At first I figure it's the $1169 prog on
the quarters, then I notice the jackpot is $2000. And I remember I
switched to 50c denom. Awright! THEN, I realize that I got this
Royal ON THE DEAL. Holy crap! That never happens! Never before for
me, anyhow. The machine automagically held all five cards.

No photo, as my friends with the pocket digital camera are nowhere
nearby, too bad- it's such a pretty hand. I get my handpay, cash out
and head over to the $1 DDB bank with the $4550 prog RF which we have
all been playing, I think M & L sat at two seats in particular; their
butt-prints are probably still there. I drop $300 chasing that Royal
(of course I get a few more 4RFs). I head upstairs and see M&L sitting
at the cafe. I amble up, make a bid for the half of a steak sandwich
on M's plate (he was just going to get it wrapped for me!) and I join
them and rehash the dealt royal story a few times.

I drop a few more hundred playing DDBx3 for 50c and ACE$BP for $2 (on
the same machine I got my 'Hiatus' $8000 RF on last June.). M&L and I
are all on the same flight, so we make comp- buy-down shopping runs at
the liquor store (the clerk bubble-wraps them bottles for travelers)
and gift shop for tobacco. The limo ride features my CD of the Beat
Farmers singing 'Happy Boy'. I guess we're happy to not be totally
broke, because we were all down money for the trip.

I had a little excitement at the airport with the TSA guy, who thinks
he's x-rayed an image of a verboten item- a lighter! In my carry-on
briefcase. No way! I always stash my lighters in my checked bag.
After a LONG search, almost totally emptying my bag (to my amusement
and his consternation), he finally says,"There it is." He finds a
mini-Bic lighter somewhere in the bowels of my soft briefcase. I had
no idea it was in there, otherwise I would have pocketed it, as the
walk-thru machines do not detect the minis. So, he confiscates it,
did not wand me as punishment (altho' I'm sure he wanted to) and the
rest of the travel was smooth.

The coin-in amounts to 7200 promo pts,
that's 1800 pts per day for this trip.
My EV overall is (141800/144000) 98.5%.

I'll get those calc'ed coin-in & pts from my host to see how close I was.

Plus, as I'm the monitor for Silver, I owe a big update to the vpFree
Silver Legacy database page. I'll be adding FP TB+ and OEJ 25c/50c/$1
(on MG/MD bank in SE quadrant, between the DW and the mens room) and
perhaps other FP games (after I look them up) that I've found at
Silver on the multi-games. Thanks for the trickle of updates from
y'all over the last few months.

Cheers,
~MARK
