Silver Legacy slashes comp rate

During my previous visit in July it was about .14% but was hard to determine exactly due to my playing a little bit of slots.

I just got back from 3 nights there and the rate is now .05%. I gave them much less play than usual this trip due to the near zero comp rate. With about $7000 CI I got $3.50 comps playing 9/6 DDB. I believe the comp rate is the same for all VP.

As I posted in November 2009 (#2781) the SL began to change its computer system and comp rate and by March it was clear that the comp rate had been drastically reduced to somewhere between .04 and .05 for 25 cents VP. (message #2915, March 11, 2009.) Curiously most of the locals I talked to weren't aware of the extent of the cut back immediately.

Since the cut back, I have received the same or higher comps for rooms: my typical $8,000-10,000 per day gets a comped room through a casino host.

Supposedly the SL is trying to compensate for the lower point accumulation by offers through the mail. For 3 days of play I generally receive the equivalent of 2 meals, a buffet for 2 and a $10 food credit (I only use the 2 for 1 buffet for myself once) and occasionally modest cash back, $25 to $50 by mail. I continue to receive the same room comps (through both a mailer and my host).

A caveat: I haven't been there since March.

I was there in May, July, and this past weekend. The mailers have steadily gotten worse despite the highest play I've ever given them (other than this past weekend I was playing 5K-8K.) This weekend I was comped for the slot tournament and 3 nights from a host initiated call. My latest marketing offer was 3 nights M-Th, 2 $5 gift shop coupons and a bottle of wine. I also get the weekend entertainment offers with one night comped and one casino rate. These are of no use to me since I'm not interested in shows or weekends. I'd like to get CB for the amount of the show tickets. I don't intend to play there anymore.
