Silver Legacy Changes

DEUCES WILD

The entire bank of DW machines was removed. No idea of whether they will
show up elsewhere.

An employee told me of one player who played nothing but DW who had won
$40,000 on the Legacy Lotto spin last year. That's beating the odds. Drawing
tickets for the Lotto are based upon play & you would be lucky to win once a year
let alone 4 times.

Is this related to the removal of the DW machines? Doubt if one person was
the motivation but maybe there were several. I'm not affected because I never
played them but I did notice that people would lock these things up from time
to time.

CHANGES IN SLOT CARD PROGRAM

This may be old news to some but I just learned of it this last weekend. On
my last trip I was charged for food upon checkout. I had used up most of my
comps & wasn't aware that Baron cards were comped for room only & food was
taken out of comp account. So this last weekend, I was careful to keep food
charges down & later talked to my host. This is the backstory:

When the Baron & Sterling categories were initially created, food was
included (Sterling probably didn't include steak house). When limit on comp account
was raised to $900 from $600, this was changed so that only room was comped
& food was taken from comp account. It's nice to be informed. Maybe I was but
I don't remember anything in the mail.

So in effect there is no RFB any more.

If you want to fine tune your level, this info may be helpful.

Sterling has a mid-level which starts at a daily average of 850 pts/day
($17,000) which has most of the benefits of Baron including 1 free tournament
entry & includes 2 room nights in a spa suite.

Going to Baron kicks it up to 2 free tournament entries, 3 nights, free limo
ride & a couple of other minor things which I didn't bother to record.

As always, good stuff Glenn! A few comments ...

Food has always been taken out of comps at Sterling level, only the
room was free.

For some time I have been trying to find that cutoff for upper level
of Sterling (850 points) without success. Thanks for clearing that
up and filling out the associated benefits. Upper Sterling also
received the Baron Cash Bonus ($500), but recent reports suggest that
amount has been reduced.

Regarding the shopping offer, the mailer mentioned that you could
pick up shopping certificates on 12/3 that were good until 4/07, so
you did not have to immediately shop. Another important question to
answer is how many shopping dollars per earned point.

As for the Deuces, these are relatively new machines (multi-game) and
it would have been a simple matter to just replace FPDW with NSUD
etc. That the machines have disappeared suggests they are being
relocated ... and that's probably a good thing because this was a
miserable area to play. I'm sure someone will report them if they
reappear.
