"I would appreciate you forwarding the spreadsheet to NYNY management so that I can receive an official response. I have posted this e-mail and spreadsheet on a number of gaming web sites to inform other players. I will also post a response from NYNY if I receive one."
I know it is hard to stop going to a casino where you have been comped significantly and then have a reduction, but:
1. I don't think the above paragraph in your response is going to help you much. What you are talking about here are discretionary comps and the casino can either give them or not give them. At MGM Mirage properties, all comps are discretionary since the only thing you are "entitled" to are offers in writing and cashback for your points. Saying you are going to post on gaming websites may also not be helpful.
2. It has become known that if most of your play is video poker which you probably played since you are on this group, that MGM Mirage has cut significantly during the past two years comps for customers who play video poker.
3. The casino business is good these days. Just take a look at the earnings reports for all the publicly held companies. They really do not care about retaining a customer -- at least at the moment -- maybe that will change.
I think the challenge here is to find out what rate they are willing to comp at so you can adjust your spending accordingly since comps are not banked for visitors at MGM Mirage properties.
