Siena: Field Report / request for stay evaluation

My wife & I did this last week. We are 7* at Harrahs but pulled out a
diamond card from Peppermill not expecting much. Anyway we were pleasantly
surprised with both of us receiving $100 on our acct part of which we used for
the restaurant trying to find something expensive to order. Long story
short, we spent about $25 - $30 for two & were pleased with the meal (chinese
food) so we left a 25% tip & told them how much we liked it.

I do the free play match once a trip & have always gambled about an hour
or so on $. This time it was only 40 minutes. Another pleasant surprise was
yesterday when they called to invite my wife (new sign-up) to their Super
Bowl party.

I've never stayed there but have always wanted to.

***If anyone has stayed there recently (ever since change of ownership)
please give us your evaluation.***

Went over to Siena yesterday...
They're advertising that they'll "Instant Upgrade" to match your card from
another casino...
Well, problem is, I'm "Platinum" at JANugget...which only has ONE Card
(However, from the mailers it's obvious who's Platinum)
I walked into "Player Development" at Siena and showed her my mailer (3
nights a week, $500 a month, All Codes have "A" on them)
She said they do not match JANugget, because there's no way to know what
level I am (Uhh, are we stupid? I just showed you my mailer)
So I apologized for wasting her time, and walked out and got in line with
all the other homeless wanting $5 free play matched from Baldini's and Rail
City...and used my Gold Card from Atlantis to "instant upgrade" to
"Diamond" at Siena...
So, for anyone wanting to get a free $50 comp balance at Siena, simply
show them your high tiered cards from any house and they'll give you $50 comp
points (I plan to eat there a few times on them)
On a side note, the lady in Player Development said there's currently no
requirements in place for higher tiers at Siena...

I stayed there before, and I've heard the rooms are no different..the rooms will not disappoint, trust me. (They're basically a clone of Peppermill rooms)

The rooms are very nice but if you are there in the warm weather be advised that the cooling is done by room A/C units that make that loud clunk sound every time the compressor turns on or off.

George

My only stay at Siena was last month on a mailer offer. We got a deluxe room, which faces the river. It was one of the nicer rooms I've seen in Reno. Probably a half step behind a Peppermill tower room, but far ahead of the standard rooms at El Dorado and Harrahs. As George mentioned, the wall unit AC/heater is a downer, giving it a bit of motel feel. But the comfortable bed and modern decor make up for it.
