Shutting down a paying machine

I never had it happen in this country but I did in St. Marteen. A gambling
friend and I were on a Carnival cruise and we went to the Beach Casino which
is the first one right off the pier on the Dutch side. There are only 4 $1
(and nothing higher) old MultiPoker IGT's in a square. In 2 hours my friend and
I both hit quad deuces and then we both switched to Double Bonus and hit quad
Aces. The manager came over for the 2nd handpay (4th total for us) and said
something in another language to the slot tech. He looked at the credit and
we each had another 200 or so credits from smaller quads. They paid us after
some hesitation and then without asking us hit the cash out button. The coins
dropped out to pay us the remaining credits on the machine and they asked us
to leave. We left and didn't want to raise much of a stink as we were in a
different country and were happy to walk out with a profit and all of our
fingers. We met our wives on the pier after shopping and we told our wives the
story. They really didn't believe us...We walked back through the casino about
60 mins later with our wives and the machines had "Service" signs on them.

As small as the casino is the $4K or so total we hit them for might have
been a week or two profit for them.
