First - what casino was it? I can't imagine shutting a machine such as you
describe for 2 W2Gs and a few quads. The player may have been loud when he
won, but he probably wasn't really winning all that much from your
description. Unless this was at a very small casino, it was an unusual occurrence.
The only time I've seen something like that was about 7 years or more ago,
when coins dropped out. This was on a Blazing 7s machine that had to be
refilled over and over. At some point they came over and told the patron that if
the machine needed 1 more fill, they would have to shut it down. Sorry - but
that was their policy - any machine that needed to be refilled more than 4
times in 24 hours would be shut down to check. It seemed to be a casino
policy as a way to check for mechanical malfunctions (or perhaps cheating).
But on DDB machines, a few quads and 2 sets of Aces with kickers wouldn't
seem an abnormal amount of action.
Perhaps the guy's loud behavior more than anything was involved. He made it
seem like maybe the machine was malfunctioning. And maybe he was a bit
obnoxious in general. ??
