Does anyone know if Harrah's will book you into the Horshoe? Is
Horshoe the best hotel and does Harrah's LA Downs have a hotel?
Planning a quick weekend visit so if there is anything special going
on, please advise. I have looked at the VP page and the VPFree page
as to what is available. Looks like decent blackjack and NSU V.P.

Hi, Never posted before but Harrah's Louisiana Downs does not have a hotel on property but are going to build one. They do have rooms they can arrange for you either comped or discounted. If you are a big enough player the will put you at the Horseshoe which they now own.----- Original Message -----

Harrah's will not book you into the Horseshoe. Horseshoe number is 800-789-0711 and is the best hotel and casino IMO. The Isle of Capri, Hollywood, Horseshoe and Sam's all have nice hotels connected to the casino and are all essentially "all suite" type hotels. Very large rooms with a defined seating area and large bathrooms. I have stayed at the Isle and Horseshoe and prefer the Shoe. VP paytables are not particularly good anywhere - horrific at the Hollywood.
The new Harrah's casino at Lousianna Downs is nice with better paytables than the boats in Bossier and Shreveport but there is no hotel connected. A few motels in the area though. By the way, the Downs is about a 10 minute drive out of town from where the other casinos are.
