On my last vacation, I stayed at the LVH for a slot tourny. At one of
the sessions, I found out a guy next to me played FPDW at various
local casinos. I told him about the AA games at LVH that he didn't
know about. A lady nearby asked what full-pay meant, so the guy and I
explained it to her. After that slot round was over, I then showed
both of them the AA I usually played and told them that the strategy
was difficult, but it was all I had in the Kansas City area. We then
showed her the most commonly shorted items for Deuces, Joker, and DB.
Some of her comments were, "so now video poker won't be fun?", "What
about progressives" and "you can actually make a profit???".
Personally I think it is fun to play AA and get C3 comps(for now
anyway). Maybe she will at least try to play the better machines or
even go the extra step and learn proper strategy.
The guy I was talking to was wondering about play needed for a local
at LVH. I told him I diddn't know, I just played through about
$10,000 a day and I keep getting $75 and C3 comps(used to be $200 not
to long ago). I don't know if locals are also judged by trip average.
I see nothing wrong with more people looking for the good machines,
