I've received private emails which contend that it is irresponsible
to post links to video poker articles with content that puts-down
respected writers or is otherwise offensive. They further suggest
that if such links are posted, victims (or members) shouldn't be
restricted in any posted responses.
I disagree.
I believe that vpFREE members should be exposed to what's being
written about video poker and are capable of recognizing pettiness
and separating the wheat from the chaff on their own.
The posting of these links on vpFREE offers victims of put-downs
a platform to respond to such attacks, that they might not have had
otherwise, and this publicizing of any such put-downs may reflect
unfavorably on the columnist and his/her image.
It's not necessary to get personal or counter-attack when responding
to put-downs, and those are the only restrictions that the vpFREE
rules place on responders. Counter-attacks IMO are counter-productive
and reflect poorly on the image of the responder.
vpFREE plans to continue posting links to video poker articles that
might be of interest to the members, providing they have some
redeeming value, which most do.
Comments or suggestions on this subject should be sent to me
privately or posted on FREEvpFREE.
