Should Rob Singer become a "moderated member" of vpFREE?

Lawrence,

Were you a part of VPhell? The intelligence part was never a question.
Lively? Especially lively. Good humor? If you find bulldogs tearing the
meat off each others bones humorous, then yea, it was funny.

VPmail - here we come!

Our hope is that there will always be room here for lively discussion of

opposing views, discussed with intelligence and good humor. If Rob Singer
can be a part of that, than I believe he will be very welcome by most
members of vpfree.

It seems apparent at this point that those inclined to vote on this issue at
all are the same who are most adamant in their opposition to RS being a part
of this group again. That's not surprising, since those with strong feelings
are usually the ones who bother to vote in any election. I'm still
disappointed, mainly because Tom's plan is/was to keep RS fully moderated,
thus precluding the kinds of posts that most here have complained about and
seemed most concerned in preventing.

No, I was never a member of the old vp-heaven but I've heard about it. If
Tom is true to his word and RS is fully moderated, there shouldn't be a
problem, unless it's that there are some who just don't want to deal with
views they see as incorrect. By being fully moderated, all other issues have
been taken off the table. I'd urge people to play this issue the same way
they play vp, with their brains not their emotions.

Bonus Post:

Anyway, we just got back from a few days in Primm and noticed no changes
since the last trip about six weeks ago. A supervisor told me that there
are no plans to add multistrike, so it'll probably be up and ready by the
next trip.

During a break I got into a conversation with a retired contractor from LV
and got an education about everything that goes into building a resort. He
was especially detailed about how low the per unit costs are, compared to
what you and I would pay for the same things at Home Depot or Lowes. The
result of all this was that I came to an appreciation of the fact that these
casinos can get a hell of a lot more value out of my $1400 monthly mortgage
payment than I can.

kidding...kidding.

Well, I guess I'm a little confused. If he's going to be so

"fully-moderated" what will he be able to post besides a trip report?
What value or contribution are you looking for him to make?

Nothing specific, Scot, and maybe nothing valuable at all. That's not the
issue I'm concerned with. The issue is shutting someone up because you don't
like what they say.

I agree with QZ's statement, "Since BS can assume any Yahoo ID he wishes, I
see no problem with granting him a moderated status." The point being,
he'll be around anyway, so why not know for sure who it is who's saying his
words?

I agree with Steve because I was there.

So here goes, I very rarely post because I don't feel I have much to
contribute. We only go to Vegas twice a year. I do reply to specific
questions that I know the answer to and I usually post something right
after we get back from a trip. I have answered questions about vp on the
riverboats in Indiana. So I guess I go back to lurking  I do appreciate
everything I read from this group!

Many of you may feel that Mr. Singer's email to me was pretty mild (and it
was for him). The problem is I sent an email to the group about my vote
not realizing he was already a part of the group (I thought that was what
we were voting on). And then I get a private reply which I didn't ask for.

He's going to be moderated if the vote goes his way - OK if thats what
everyone wants. I'm just saying that being fully moderated on the list
will not stop him from sending posters private emails with whatever he
wants to say in them. Many of the vpheaven group can tell you how
unpleasant that can be.

so I'm back to filtering him from my email (I thought that I didn't have to
worry about that after my last upgrade, oh well). so everyone vote!

We are back in Vegas april 6 - 11th - its my birthday present so maybe I'll
have some news to pass along.

Rhonda,

He's long been lurking (and maybe posting with restraint, who knows?) since he has sent me private emails regarding posts I've made. I was ready to vote to allow him moderated status until you posted his message to you. This was totally uncalled for, regardless of how "mild" it was.

I immediately voted to forbid him membership (and yes, Rob, I'm ready for your private response. The mouse is already over the trash can icon). In my opinion, your occasional posts are worth their weight in gold compared to anything he can say. Please continue to post.
