Should Rob Singer become a "moderated member" of vpFREE?

Greetings from Las Vegas, Home of Positive ER Video Poker:

I invited Rob Singer to become a "moderated member" of vpFREE,
subject to some special restrictions, and he accepted my
invitation, to take effect when I thought the time was right.

When I extended the invitation, I was laboring under the delusion
that vpFREE would be converting to full-moderation, which would
afford greater control over disruptive situations. Now that we're
sticking with semi-moderation, I would still like to honor the
invitation, because I don't like having anyone banned, and I'm
confident that the agreed on restrictions will allow his
participation to be handled in a non-disruptive manner. However,
learning from the moderation vote, I'm going to run RS's
participation up the flagpole and see who salutes, via a new Poll I'm
setting up. Then, If a majority of the voters are against his being a
"moderated member", I'll withdraw the invitation. If less than half
are opposed, he will become a "moderated member".

                         RESTRICTIONS

He will be allowed to post a monthly trip report (with the standard
vpFREE Rob Singer disclaimer appended) in which he is free to talk
about his system and anything else that is VP related, as long as he
conforms to vpFREE Rules and Policies, and Posting Guidelines.

In his other vpFREE posts, he won't be allowed to push his agenda
(promoting discipline and short term luck as the only way to VP
profits) or to initiate any discussions of his system.

vpFREE will continue to carry his weekly GAMING TODAY column.

I would prefer that his participation doesn't result in discussions
of the Rob Singer agenda or system. Both have been covered
extensively on the vp_heaven Yahoo Group, and further discussion IMO
is counter- productive. If any such discussion develops, it must be
long on facts and short on anecdotal evidence and rhetoric.
Prolonged, disruptive threads won't be allowed.

The Rob Singer Poll will be ongoing, but I'll tabulate the results
on Thursday 6 March to determine if he becomes a "moderated

bad move, he doesn't "moderate" well. and its inevitable that the "old"
rob singer discussions erupt. Frankly, I don't like to hear his crap or
discussions about his "system" and winning ways thats why I joined vpfree.

I applaud the decision to allow RS to participate on a moderated basis,
subject to a vote of the membership, and I encourage others to vote to
approve his membership under Tom's moderation rules.

Over the past few weeks, a few of us who are members of this group have
discussed privately how valuable and entertaining this group has been.
However, we also felt that there was a threat that vpfree would become
little more than a bulletin board for posting information on the status of
various games and locations. At the same time, we've been sorry to see a few
highly personal attacks of the kind that prompted Tom to consider full
moderation in the first place.

Our hope is that there will always be room here for lively discussion of
opposing views, discussed with intelligence and good humor. If Rob Singer
can be a part of that, than I believe he will be very welcome by most
members of vpfree.

To allow RS access I believe is a serious mistake. The man has a
history of personal attacks on people. He has gets insulting and also
sends private nasty email's to posters. I and others have been the
recipients of this persons garbage. i had to put a block on my email
to get rid of this ....! he has been barred from other groups kills
groups with his invective. It may not be possible to completely avoid
cancer, but why take unnecessary chances???/

Please consider this post my own personal salute to RS. If you can imagine
one big fat meaty hand high in the air displaying only a mid metacarpal
extension, then you have it.
Perhaps you don't recall the meltdown over at vp hell, and it's associated
nastiness. I would imagine that at sometime that group started out as a
forum, but degenerated into a personal pulpit for reverend Singer. At times
you could have logged on and seen 30 posts from him in a single day. At
other times, you could even witness him answering his own posts, sometimes
as himself, sometimes as one of his many alter egos, Eddie Bannon. Wow, what
entertainment that was!
I am not personally against those who own mouths of mass destruction, hell I
think at times I fit quite nicely into that category myself. The difference
is that when I open mine more times than not, the truth will come out. Not
so with RS. How may of you have read his articles emphasizing his idiotic
avoidance of using a slot club card? Many times I have had to bite down on
my tongue thinking of all of the bennies that I would have paid for in the
17 months that I have lived in Vegas had I not used my card. If I read one
more time, "Oh, but when I play professionally, I ..." come on, give me a
break.
Reading other posts on this subject, I see some of you do not believe he has
been on VPFree. How naive you are. Someone mentioned that they think he has
restrained himself from posting out of respect for our administrator. Does
anyone really think that Rob truly respects anyone or anything? If so,
please email me as I have some prime lake front property for a quick sale in
the newly annexed state of East California.
What is his trip record up to nowadays anyway, maybe 738 winning trips and 3
losers. Anyone else want to bid on this condo-ready lake front property? For
those of you who have Winpoker, prove it to yourself. Go into options and
choose autoplay, then on your main screen set it up to play batches of
10,000 hands ( a reasonable number for a weekend of play) then run about a
hundred of these sims and see what record you achieve.
Many years ago, one of my first exposures to internet groups was at
rec.gambling.blackjack.com. Anyone remember what one Mr. Doug Grant did to
that group?
For you Mr. Administrator, I would rather see you in straits dire enough to
be borrowing money than borrowing trouble. Being that RS is apparently the
only human important enough to have a whole webpage with a dedicated policy
on the VPFree group where he is not even a participant and now his
admittance to the group has come up once again, please, if you would, just
tell me this. In your own words, what possible positive contribution can Rob
Singer offer to VPFree and/or the video poker playing community as a whole,
in your opinion? I am not completely close minded on this issue, although I
am sure you will find many that may think that I am. I am certainly open to
the presentation of evidence that would change my preconceived notions about
RS. As the RS issue seems to keep coming up, usually initiated by
administration at VPFree, could you share with the members that you are
requesting a vote from, your personal expectations of why he is the only
candidate for membership worthy of such attention? Thanks much.

Nudge, Tom Sims has made it perfectly clear that RS will be fully moderated.
This point has been made many times, but apparently it needs to be made
again. By being fully moderated, RS cannot possibly flood the board with
posts. Each individual post would have to be approved first. Flooding the
board with disruptive posts is NOT an issue.

As for possible contributions, it is NOT for us to decide that a person
should be banned because we don't believe his opinions constitute a positive
contribution. If a person plays by the rules, then ANY vp-related opinion
is worthy of being posted, imo. The rules have been clearly stated. Every
post must be approved before it makes it to the board. Positive
contributions are NOT an issue.

Tom has also pointed out how easy it is for anyone to get email addresses of
members. If there is a problem in this area, it will not disappear simply
because someone is banned from posting on the board.

Finally, Tom has said "...they can always join using an alias, and I'd
rather know someone's identity directly." I agree completely.

when does the poll end? are you counting the "doesn't matter" votes

Its probably too late for my vote. But with the new policy - I say
