This, indeed, is putting your money where your mouth is! Those, on the list,
that feel as strong may actually forego comps given to them as a result of
their recent play (within 3 - 6 months) as a protest to the dwindling
positive VP play.
I am not so committed to this cause. The Orleans, for example, sent me a
3-night comp room for New Year's Eve last year. Even for a local, this is a
plum with so many "friends" suddenly wanting use to use your "juice" around
that time. This was an added benefit of having a history with the property
and a certain so-so playing level. Others have mentioned that they have
received many "discretionary" comps as part of being one of the "regulars".
Very early on , the Venetian dropped their Four-Play 10/7 DB. I stopped
playing there but graciously accepted their invite for a comped room on four
subsequent occasions. These residual perks will keep coming for at least 3 -
6 months. Enjoy them!
If you look at these properties, it is obvious that I will not be playing as
much at a place that no longer has my preferred FPDW. However, if they have
playable games and reward far and above other properties (cashback, rooms,
shows, meals, location and overall security/friendliness) , there is no need
to sever so quickly.
Even good properties, I've dropped like a hot potato. AZC gave away the
store in February, March's bounce-back. On April 1st...it was finished and I
felt no urge to play there further to reward them for this good promotion.
One day, they're in, the next day...off my list.
Those that feel this was a personal attack on them and what we stand for as
VP players, I appaud their actions. I, too, have boycotted in my lifetime
for political issues and am presently avoiding French products. In the
stream of things, it comes down to each person's individual priority on where
VP ranks within their lives.
As a local, the Coast still offers 0.75% cashback (on double point days up to
10,000 pts) with many 10/7 DB machines. Thats hard to pass up! For those of
you that want to hurt the casino, I , personally, would accept the rooms and
stiff the play.
There is no ONE simple answer or plan of action for whats happening.
Frankly, over the last 12 years of this reducing of the good VP inventory, I
was surprised it lasted this long. Ante Roz
