Short LV trip report: Hello VP board. My husband and I just returned
from a week in LV. I have scanned messages particularly about each
member posting. While my report can not compare with others wonderful
reports I will post a few highlights of our fun. Please note that
some of us mostly lurkers do so because you post our thoughts so
well. We would only be repeating. I have learned so much here after
reading Jean Scott's Frugal Gambler. All of this helps my enjoyment
of VP and with a lot of practice on Win Poker has increased profits.
We first stayed at the GN as we have many times. Like the size
and security and the service. I was in a free entry slots
tournament. Finished somewhere in middle of group. Received a lovely
gift, free food and some free play.
As I play slots as well as VP I hit a nice jackpot first night
along the blazing sevens wall. Then I found the progressive DB
poker back by the poker area. Played several sessions in three days
on 3 different machines and always came out ahead. Hit a spades RF
second day. Found these machines to be well paying and could stay
ahead. Also found 3 - 100 play - 1cent on that back wall and had fun
with a $20 bill for an hour, hitting at first then finally it got
me. Thought it played like any other slot machine, giving at first
then taking all.
We walked over to Las Vegas Club on our second day and I played
VP small progressive toward back of main casino. After about half
hour I hit another RF of spades to win $1014.00. Thrilled, and
spades must be my suit.
Fourth day we moved on to TI for comped nights. Not sure why
they sent offer along with $100 free play as we have not stayed there
in several years but my husband took free play and won $200 on a
Blazing slot machine. We were also comped with $50 food.
While there I played DB on a bank of 4 machines by Dishes
restaurant. While I did not hit any big payouts I finally hit 4 Aces
my last morning. And could play a long time on a $100 bill. Ate at
Dishes one breakfast buffet and found it lacking for $12.
I walked over to Wynn Resort to look for the VPmachines everyone
is talking about . Have stayed at Mirage and Bellaggio. Found WR to
be soooo elegant and original. Felt like I had stepped into another
world. But wonder how profitable it can continue to be. It was
Saturday evening and not too busy compared to TI crowds. After
applying for a card heard some screaming by the Red booth by tables.
Again it was blazing sevens hitting. I thought I would throw in $100
and guess what? Hit progressive for $1089.00. Hard to argue
against slots with the hit! LOL. These must be a bank of HOOK
machines. Fed back machines along with trying VP, Keno, etc. Did
not have any luck? On VP. Had enough points to get the Sunday
Champagne brunch. I went by myself as DH was sleeping all next
morning. I don't believe I will ever have any brunch (my favorite
meal) again, as elaborate, tasteful as that experience. I use the
word elaborate again because I can not find another word that fit's
the WR so well.
Have to say the highlight of this trip was that after all these
years of going to LV we finally took time for a 15 hour bus trip to
the Grand Canyon. Horrible sitting most of that time but worth it to
see the Canyon. Glad I did not try to drive there. My DH is having
trouble with eyesight and has always wanted to see it. Wish we had
gone sooner.
Well we returned home with major jet lag, some money, lol, in
our pockets.
Again let me say sorry for this rambling report but some were
complaining many don't post. See. Be careful what you wish for, you
might get it, lol. Phylann

Every open forum has lurkers. There is a value to them, I think. Thanks
for the TR!

Hi Phylann,
May I say that I enjoyed every ramble ! Thanks for posting about
your happy experiences, and letting us savor your exciting wins.
Please continue to post in the future.
I am also a fan of the GN and will be staying there in October, on a
very nice offer that I just received. I have my fingers crossed
that nothing much changes at the GN with the advent of new ownership
(Landry).
BTW, I have an "EH" (excellent husband) but what is a "DH"......
dear husband ?
Thanks again for letting us share in your adventure.
Regards,
-Babe-
