That is a horrible paytable (under 93%) for Shockwave!! Full Pay is
125/60/40/25 for quads through straight! You do hold both pair in all
versions of this game. Also should hold the pat full houses. The shockwave
feature adds a little over sixty coins average to the quads. You need an
average value of almost 670 coins for the quad to make one pair better than
two when the FH pays 45. The quad value vs the FH is a slight bit higher
than that. I think it was near 683 but I have not done this calculation in
awhile but know that when the quad pays 600 (Js, Qs or Ks in Super DB) you
toss the pair if the FH pays 40 but keep it if it pays 45.

Subject: [vpFREE] Shockwave strategyWe played Shockwave yesterday at Seneca Niagara (no luck though). I
did a search in the messages but found no information on game strategy
so am turning to you guys for help.We recall the pay schedule as:
4000
500
100
45
30
20
15
5
5Since 2 pair only pays 1/1, in regular mode do you only hold one of
the two pair dealt, hoping for a quad or do you hold 2 pair for the
full house? We were filling straights. Correct play?
In Shockwave mode, we were holding 1 pair if dealt 2 pair. If we got
a full house, we threw it away hoping for the quad. Correct moves? Is there a strategy chart available for this game? Any help with this
game is appreciated.vpFREE Links: http://members.cox.net/vpfree/Links.htm
