Shockwave Question

I recently played off a small amount of slot credits on Shockwave. I never hit a 4K but came out ahead due to FH and FL hands which pay more in that game.

I was wondering if any of you have actually hit the 4K during Shockwave mode for 4000. In other words, you were playing Shockwave for max coins and hit two 4Ks in less than 10 hands.

If you did (congratulations!) how aggressive were you in Shockwave mode going after that second 4K? vpgenius has a completely different strategy for the relatively brief "Shockwave" mode. Some of the draws are startling.

The first time I ever played shockwave I held KJ in regular mode and the draw was JJJ to put me in shockwave mode. On the second hand I held two aces and the other two aces came for a shockwave 4oak.

The second time I ever played shockwave I was dealt 3 aces in shockwave mode and drew the forth.

I have been in maybe 25 shockwave modes since then but never hit.

I did the intuitive stuff like breaking full houses in shockwave mode, but never memorized/printed the strategy.

I hit a 4oak in SW mode in 2008; it was a no-brainer, as I was dealt a three on a kind.

Startling as in holding the least pen card 5-9 when dealt no cards 10 and above? Or holding just Jh from AhJh5hQsTs? :slight_smile:

I've had several shockwaves, and unfortunately along with it several quads on hand #11 - quite possibly the sickest feeling in vp, imho. Maybe a close 2nd to dealt 4RF on 100-play and coming up with no royals, or having a little old lady sit down at the machine next to you and hit the RF progressive with a 5% meter that you've been pounding away on for 30 hours straight...it was a 121% play without adding in the meter - sometimes "quit" is not an option.

I'm still yet to see a dealt shockwave - curious to see if the machine auto-holds or not. I've never played TDB - does dealt 4A w/kicker auto-hold?

No, the only auto-hold is a dealt royal.

I've never played TDB - does dealt 4A w/kicker auto-hold?
