I lost two full days' points Monday and Wednesday at Sheraton. Jeez,
first Harrah's, now Sheraton. I seem to bring out the worst in player
account systems. When the light bulb went on last night, it was
because I initially read about this same problem at the Reno Hilton
on llv_reno-tahoe.
Apparently, the points from the last machine session only post when
your card is activated again, that is, when you reinsert your card
and play again or customer service swipes your card for access to
your account. On the days in question, I played all day without
pulling my card. The first day I was tired at the end and just went
home instead of getting my cashback. That's the reason I've never had
this problem before: I always get my cashback at the end of the day,
so my points always got posted before. The second day my points
didn't register and Customer Service interpreted it as computer
slowness...yeah, right...and said to check in the morning.
Of course, today the points were still missing, so after much
explaining I did a literal demonstration for the staff. I played 70
points and was still not officially in the casino. Then I pulled the
card, played one additional point and materialized, presto. My
missing points were added manually by the very helpful Connection
Center Manager, Sandra Parr.
Bottom line: All accounts, one session update behind, all the time.
Be very careful or you will lose some points. Either reinsert your
card and play one additonal point at the end of a day, or go to
customer service and get your card swiped. I don't know if swiping
your card at a kiosk will do it. I personally recommend taking the
time to get your cashback each day.
BTW, Sheraton's computer has been going down a lot lately so that
points and cashback aren't available until the next morning. This
just compounds the problem. They definitely need more computing
capacity or better interconnectivity.
